On my seventh birthday, I wanted a toy fire truck, and I didn't get it, and you were real nice about it, and then the house next door burnt down, and then real firetrucks came, and for years I thought you set the fire for me. And if you did, you can tell me!

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

Protip: when home waxing, wear cotton underwear, else it might MELT TO YOUR SKIN.

Aims, even your parents? That's generally what makes me clutch my pearls, is that she talks about all kinds of crazy stuff in front of my parents. And my parents were not, are not, and never shall be "cool" parents. They have very delicate sensibilities, which I usually don't challenge. But maybe I should!

Shit's all sorts of different now.

Aims, even your parents?

For sure my mother, who would probably tell my dad. But then, they are the "cool" parents. They're pretty young (dad is 56, mom will be 55) and we're a pretty share-y family. And, as far as I've been able to tell, they have no sensibilities whatsoever.

smonster, I had dinner with L. last night and she sends her love to you and your sister. We discussed for a bit the awesomeness of you both.

That is brilliant.

"And that's why God Almighty gave us fire insurance and the public defender".

So.

OK outraged me this morning. This followed a massive fail by HUJI student council (guess who has no longer access to ANY working water cooler which contains a hot water tap and therefor can not fill her thermos-from-home-with-coffee-powder, but oh-so-unexpectedly, student council (who should regulate these facilities) made it's own coffee corner, where you have to pay to fill your cup?) And last, my informant called me and told me he won't be able to see and meet me tomorrow. He did pass my details to another guy, but said guy seemed less nicer than my cool, laid back informant.

All this before noon. No wonder I was pissed off the entire day.

people believing that abortion is the taking of a life

Well, I think (don't know about believe...) it's taking a life, and I'm pro-choice. As a thinking person, and more important - a thinking person who was raised on radical feminism, sometimes this taking of life can be justified. Say, if it'll bring misery to the world. And in either case, I'd rather let the mother and father to be to decide upon this very personal call, not to a bunch of holier-than-thou strangers who won't lift a finger to make a quality of life better, but their own.

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

And, as far as I've been able to tell, they have no sensibilities whatsoever.

In other words, I think Aims parents are my parents.

Mostly lurking...

Thank you for the scotch advice yesterday. I just gave my boss a bottle, and he is thrilled. I went with a Macallan 12.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

Aw, Nora, please send greetings back. So great to meet her.

And in either case, I'd rather let the mother and father to be to decide upon this very personal call, not to a bunch of holier-than-thou strangers who won't lift a finger to make a quality of life better, but their own.

Word. I have no problem privileging the existing life of the mother over the potential life of the child.

Our wings are not tired.

vw, that was a great gift--glad he is pleased.

Steve got an iPhone today and just called me "with his first call". I LOVE that he gets that I love that little kind of sentimental gesture (he hasn't always *gotten* that about me). Also, he didn't have his number changed to Boston! He says, "it would be too much of a pain to change it back when I move back to the Bay Area."

All still very abstract, but still.
