Well, no. And, I'm not pro-life. I just found this particular crisis pregnancy center to have an agenda that aligned more closely with my beliefs, so I got involved too. And, really, what's more fun than throwing baby showers??? Add the whole shopping for perfect strangers thing who need EVERYTHING, and it's even more fun.

They had churches and other sponsors throw baby showers and line up housing and childcare, etc. Their work was absolutely amazing. And, in the process, the mothers were introduced to other mothers in their area who then became a support network to them.

That's huge, vw, and awesome. My MiL used to work with Birthright, which I think did similar things.

See, that's logical. I have no problem whatsoever with people believing that abortion is the taking of a life; I can see how that point of view is valid.

But I think people get way too focused on the battle to make other people think or act they way they would, and they lose sight (or for some, always were pretty damned blind) of the ideal here -- improving human life, compassion, care.

It's awfully damned easy to espouse a yes/no, right/wrong POV. All you have to do is scream. It's way harder to think about grey, and what to freakin' do when life complicates things.

No one thing/decision is going to be correct for every person every time. And that goes way beyond the whole abortion debate. People want things to be simple, and it just...ain't. No amount of hollerin' will change that.

I would love to say I'm anti-abortion. Because I'm not all "yay, abortions for everyone!" The language is pretty weird. I wish everyone could just agree to do things that are actually helpful in reducing the number of abortions. It would make the world a little bit simpler.
