Exactly. A was going there anyway, right?
Spike's Bitches 45: That sure as hell wasn't in the brochure.
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
I agree that A needs to drop the matter.
Yeah, 3 ways seems fair, since A was going to go anyway.
Yeah, my general thought is that if the driver was going to be driving there anyway, then the driver and passengers split the gas evenly, but if the driver is just driving there has a favor and has no reason to go there him or herself, then the passenger pays all, plus something extra would be thoughtful. (When I ask someone to drive me out to the kosher store in Rockville, I usually treat the driver to lunch at the restaurant next door and pay for an item or two if they want to get something at the grocery store.)
Good point. At first, I agreed with the 3 way split, but then A talked about the car's wear and tear, which I said would have happened anyway, and then I agreed to ask the internet.
I'm with the party that says A was going anyway and could have spent the entire $45 on gas, or the $15 A spent since they spilt the ride.
I agree that A needs to drop the matter.
oh, yes. I agreed to ask the internet so he would stop whining about it. I told him what's done is done, but he wants the "vindication" of being right. Which I understand. But, the internet has clearly said that he's wrong :)
but then A talked about the car's wear and tear
Oh, good lord. Richmond to D.C.? Isn't that like a three-hour round trip? Over the lifetime of the car?
I agree with those who say that splitting it three ways seems reasonable and expected.
in completely different news, I stumbled across the online news for my college (and its brother school). One "crime" report read:
THERE IS A SUSPICIOUS WHITE MALE WALKING AROUND IN A BATHROBE AND CARRYING A LIGHT SABER. ALL UNITS CLEAR AT 0148 HOURS. UNIT 54 SPOKE WITH THE COMPLAINANT AND EVERYTHING IS OK AT THIS TIME
Yup - I came here naturally.
