I think I've decided that, once I get a job and move to wherever that job is located, I'm going to get a recumbent trike. The good ones are pricey, but they look like fun, and I know that I can ride a recumbent stationary bike for much longer than I can ride an upright one before my knees start hurting.

GC, I found my kids were very portable during the infant stage. Good for going on walks and such. For activities to do with them, parks, the beach, the aquarium, and I love going to the Farmers Market.
