Yes, it's terribly simple. The good guys are always stalwart and true, the bad guys are easily distinguished by their pointy horns or black hats, and, uh, we always defeat them and save the day. No one ever dies, and everybody lives happily ever after.

Spike's Bitches 45: That sure as hell wasn't in the brochure.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

I know my own heart and understand my fellow man. But I am made unlike anyone I have ever met. I dare to say I am like no one in the whole world. - Anne Lister

The charity is a great idea, but they did not list one in the obit. His death was sudden and not due to any illness or sickness, so no obvious charities come immediately to mind.

Our wings are not tired.

Glam, I've sent her an email. Ryan died in 2004, so I think it's long enough ago that she will be okay answering.

omnis, pursue. That's an order from a shy woman who can use M-16. - Shir

omnis, that's sucky. Is there any way to argue your case with those days?
I have started the argument. Gal who handles those things has been pretty responsive so far. Have not heard from her with my "um, but I worked a holiday I was supposed to have off, I should be compensated" argument. Hopefully that means she is taking it up the chain.

ION- called about an apartment. Still available. It's on the edge of good neighborhood. So, not sure if it's good or not. But, it's a TWO bedroom! Elevator! swimming pool! gated parking! and newly upgraded floor and fixtures. Corner unit. It's a little more than I was hoping to spend, but might be worth it. Cross your fingers.

I haven't trusted science since I saw the film "Flubber."

Make-a-Wish? A children's hunger fund? St. Jude's?

“Not dead yet!”

Or if not a charity, then perhaps planting a tree or naming a star? Too corny, maybe, but I don't know...

Good ideas. I'm leaning toward the St. Jude donation, but will wait to see what java's friend suggests. One last thing, does this seem appropriate to send?

Just wanted to let you know I got the package yesterday. Thank you so much - I can only imagine how difficult it was for you to prepare. They are wonderfully sweet items and we will think fondly of BABY and your family when Shane wears them.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Seems good to me.

I'm getting the pig!

Does she live near you? I was going to suggest thanking her with a spa gift certicate or take her out to get nails done. Something with just her or the two of you and that way you're acknowledging her kindness without focusing on the pain, if that makes sense.
