Spike's Bitches 45: That sure as hell wasn't in the brochure.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Not a loser! You have a real life and time with your wonderful family.

Thanks. It's not a rational thing. It'll go away soon enough.

Trust my rage

Oh, well, that makes complete sense.

Good luck finding a new place, Aimee.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

It's not a rational thing.

I'll say! I was more than a little surprised to scroll back and see that was your quote.

FWIW, that's nothing like how I see you. I think you're an exceptionally good father and husband, extremely smart and capable and somebody who managed to write a draft for his first novel while maintaining an incredibly high workload at home and in the office.

I have such a ton of respect for you, Gud, and well, you're just a really excellent human being.

Aimee, if you run out of time and need a place to stay, you're all welcome to stay with me until you find a place.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Gud, what Hec said.

Nice of y'all to say that. Well, my workload in both has gone down. Thanks, it's not so much I feel bad about myself, it's just that the bar seems really high in my extended family. Still not rational though and it's not like anyone in my family is saying anything like that at all. Sorry, I really didn't mean to troll for validation.

I don't think you were. I was just surprised because your quote was so very far from my assessment. In short: UR Krazy.

Sorry, but it's true.

omnis, pursue. That's an order from a shy woman who can use M-16. - Shir

wrt Census. There are two forms that have gone out. A long form they do every so often in different areas to keep up on the changing demographics. And a short form that goes out to everyone every 10 years. The reason for so many stupid notes telling you about it's arrival, and reminding you to send it in is it is cheaper to blanket mail everyone those, then to send folks door to door to collect information. The money they are spending on advertising, NASCAR sponsorship, and mailings pales to the amount spent on labor. At least, that is what the NPR and PBS interviews have revealed.

ION- rant time. It seems I have 8.25 vacation days, 22 sick days, 4 floating holidays, and 3 personal days unused at current job. Upon leaving, they only reimburse for vacation days. I understand not for sick days, as they can carry over year after year. I sort of can for personal days. But floating holidays? I was supposed to have a holiday off, and I worked the day. I should get reimbursed for that shit! Grrr. I'm a little grumpy. I was hoping for an extra 2 weeks of pay to help with moving expenses, and now it looks like it will be just over 1. t /rant

Less-crappiness wishes to Aims, Gud and everyone else who needs them.

omnis, that's sucky. Is there any way to argue your case with those days?

In my house (and indeed across the country) we're watching and obsessing over the debate in Parliament around the Digital Economy Bill, which is going to dedded the internets in the UK if it passes. It amuses me that, despite the very limited size of this island-and-a-bit, #DEBill is trending worldwide on twitter.
