Spike's Bitches 45: That sure as hell wasn't in the brochure.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

P-C, you were already that dick who said he'd email and didn't--it's been two months. Let it slide. Anything you do now, if you don't actually want to establish communication, is just to make yourself feel better, not her.

Yeah, that was my thinking as well, but when my mom found out, she said that wasn't nice and I agreed to send a close-out e-mail. Except I don't really see the point at this juncture either. It's not like that first girl who never e-mailed me back ever said anything two months later.

"already on the kiss-cam with Karl Marx"-

Turtle has a hispanic cousin on OKCupid. Esto no vale la pena. (Why did I do that, again?) Well, I guess this part is fun...

Heh. I suppose you could send a "My mom is on me to be nicer, and I admit, I was a dick when I said I'd email and I didn't--fading out instead of just saying "I'm not that into the bride search, and I feel like we don't have a connection" is a shitty move. I hope your search is going more awesome than mine, and other guys are better at it than me. This is probably an even worse sign off, and please don't feel any need to reply" :)

Except even that sounds like you...want a reply.

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

Is it wrong that I'm finding it ironically amusing that Stupak is getting voicemails of people calling him "babykiller" and threatening him (with death or just retribution in general)?

I think that would be nice etiquette, Meara.Todd, if that's wrong, I don't wanna be right. Irony: it's what's for dinner.

Dinner with family, OMG save me from the politics.

Now tagless for your comfort.

sj, I feel you...just tell them if they buy one lotto ticket a week for a year, they could win a jackpot once every 40,000 years.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

It has now been three weeks since I got an email from my advisor. I have sent him five emails in that period. I tried to go to his office today before and after his classes, when he's frequently there, but he wasn't. Another grad student said he was meeting with him at 5:30, and I thought about waiting until then, but I had to get to the pharmacy before 6, and that was cutting it too close.

Dissertation keeps jumping back and forth between 94 and 95 pages as I'm editing. 170 job applications out, with three more ready to go tomorrow.

Symposium on Male Studies

A gathering of academicians drawn from a range of disciplines will meet on April 7, 2010, at Wagner College, Staten Island, New York, to examine the declining state of the male, stemming from cataclysmic changes in today’s culture, environment and global economy. The live teleconferenced colloquium will be chaired by Lionel Tiger, PhD, Rutgers University Charles Darwin Professor of Anthropology. It will encompass a broad range of topics relevant to the study of boys and men in contemporary society ranging from their roles in the family and workforce, as well as their physical and emotional health, to the growing problem of misandry—the hatred of males, an unacknowledged but underlying socio-cultural, economic, political and legal phenomenon endangering the well-being of both genders.

It would be rude to picket, right?
