[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Andi and I were watching Lois and Clark season 2 today and we got to an episode where they dressed up as "criminal types" to visit someone in prison.
Leather jacketed Clark, Read leather/vinyl halter top Lois wearing a black vinyl mini.
They introduced themselves as Spike and Angel.

I was deprived of internet the entire weekend, thanks to the net provider that thinks that employing a technician during the Shabbat is wrong, but it's OK to employ tech support during it. WTF. Pay the tech-guy 150% and give me my internet.
First post I see when I'm getting back here? omnis, and boobs. Yep, nothing changed.
Anyhow.
Dog is still alive, and seems to be liking it; I, for one, thinking chancing his name to Two-Face (seriously, what changes in the skull can do to you).
I spent the weekend watching the Emotional Resonance without the rocket launchers, while sleeping and falling asleep every 20 minutes. I know I was tired, didn't know I was THAT tired.
Hi, Shir.
Yeah, I don't have much to say, other than I hope the boss finds someone else to work. Today is my day off, and someone else called in sick. Daniel and I have too much planned today. I don't want to leave.
We are FINALLY!! On XBox live!! Our name thingie is (of course) Mr. Miracleborn.
WindSparrow, can't you tell the boss that you simply can't and need your day off?
People aren't machines.

As this is one of the few places I have worked where the attitude toward people who have to call in sick is one of compassion rather than suspicion, I like to do my best to be helpful about filling in for others. And the bosses are unusually flexible about working around weird scheduling stuff. For instance, last week when we thought we would be spending this weekend with Daniel's mom at her boyfriend's funeral, the supervisor I talked to about needing Friday off made no mention of being shorthanded due to another staff member being in the hospital due to having a heart attach. And she did not say a word about all the doctors' appointments that our residents had, which require extra staff. She just expressed her sympathy, and started making arrangements. And when we got the good news, she was just glad that things had gotten better for us, making no mention of her scheduling problems.
The truth is that we do have some stuff that needs to be done at home, so I can't give the boss the whole shift. But I can (and did) offer the boss a couple of hours later on. He said he had one more person to try, and if he needed me, he would call back to see what we could work out. That was two and a half hours ago, so I'm almost sure he doesn't need me.
So yeah, I do have that one supervisor who is crazy and unprofessional, but by and large, the people I work for are sane, compassionate and full of respect for their employees. I have a lot to be grateful for.

holy shit! ya stay holed up in your apartment, blinds shut, and the weather SNOWS on you. Wow! I get to laugh at my boss, who commented on the ice scrapper in my car saying, "you won't need this again".
Hah! Snow, in Texas?? I didn't think that happened much, certainly not in Springtime!!
It's a fairly nice-looking day here--I was out at a party until 3AM, but just got woken up by a call from my real-estate guy that the homeowners counter-offered. By only coming down $3K. (I offered -$15K, which I knew was a tad low, but geez, people. Your house has been on the market for almost a YEAR, get with the picture! The response from the seller's agent: "Well, they took it off the market for two weeks to contemplate renting vs. selling..." Yeah, whatever.) Now to figure out a couple of the other little zip throughs he wrote in there, and if it's smart to counter-counter. Hrmph.
