Anybody know why I bought a head of cabbage? I have no idea what I planned to do with it.

My new fave thing with cabbage is to shred it really thin, like coleslaw thin, and then saute it with soy sauce, mirin (or other sweet wine like marsala) and fresh grated ginger. It goes really well with a seared tuna steak, for those meat eaters among us, but I imagine that a good marinated tofu would compliment as well.

I know my own heart and understand my fellow man. But I am made unlike anyone I have ever met. I dare to say I am like no one in the whole world. - Anne Lister

That does sound good, Vortex. DW makes a great veggie and meatball dish with cabbage as a main ingredient. I loves it!

I think I might make a cabbage and potato soup. I've got a bag of potatoes that are starting to sprout, but I think I can salvage enough of them to make a soup.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

On Salon a few weeks ago they had a cabbage dish I've been dying to try: [link]

OK, so the school that contacted me yesterday? Apparent what they did is narrowed down the 100 or so applications to 13, then emailed those 13 people to find out if they're still interested in the job, and then within the next few days they're going to pick about three from the people who say they're still interested and invite those three for campus interviews. So I'm one of the 13, but I don't know yet if I'm one of the three.

Whoa. This frozen vegan mac and cheese is REALLY good. (It's the Amy's Rice Macaroni with Non-Dairy Cheese. Not to be confused with the Amy's Macaroni with Soy Cheeze, which is not vegan.) It's expensive and a ridiculous number of calories, so it's definitely a once in a while thing.

Because it's St Patty's Day! What?? I can't be the only one who thought that?

So I'm one of the 13, but I don't know yet if I'm one of the three.
That's awesome! I say, think positive. Be one of the 3, and it will happen!
