Shir, I'm so sorry.
beth, I hope things work out.
New cat almost scratched her eye out last night. She has trouble fully retracting her claws and since she's become basically an indoor cat over the past couple of years they're way too long. I came home last night and her eye was all bloody, but after I cleaned it off it's clearly a long scratch that starts on her brow ridge and goes straight down to the lower lid. Fortuntately the actual eye seems fine.
I have mixed feelings about this [link]
On one hand it is an old edition...
I love books as much as anyone, but I find that picture clever and amusing. May the library gods not hurt me. In preparing to move I was wondering what to do with the encyclopedia set my sister gave me when the boys were little. It has to be close to 40 years old, and yet much of the information is still accurate.
{{Shir}} I hope they find something easily treatable.
Best wishes for the BIL, beth.
Do you think you can trim the kitty claws, Brenda? I can't imagine trimming Georgia without damage to me. But she keeps them trimmed on the palm trees outside, and my tires for some reason.
Aims, you keep going mama bear on the uncle. If he dares to attempt to make you feel sorry for him come on back and we'll be happy to remind you that your family comes first. He created his own situation. My favorite response in these situations: Your lack of planning is not my emergency. Cafe Press even has t-shirts. [link]
I'm going to try getting some sort of scratching post for her. I'm scared to try trimming her claws but it may come to that.
I wonder if there's a t-shirt that says "Your being a lying, scum-sucking, tax-cheating asshole with the IQ of a houseplant is not my emergency."
ugh, shir, I'm so sorry. I hope they are able to easily treat the tumor.

You might look for a cat groomer or check with your vet's office. Either will trim your cat's claws. Not sure how much it costs, but then you don't have to do it and you know it's done right.
Andi, how do you make sure your cats get enough water? I put out two bowls, because I have two cats and that way, however picky they are they have options. One of them also likes to hop up on the counter and lap at the leaky water faucet in the kitchen. So, I don't worry about lack of water, but how do I know if they're getting enough?
Shir, my dear, I am so so sorry. I hope your doggie is quickly diagnosed and healed.
My vet charges $12 to trim my cat's claws. I trim Bella's, but Xusa is a) 13 lbs and built like a linebacker and b) no really, has *no* scruff to grab, so she only gets trimmed at the vet. I'm tempted to buy those "emery board" scratching thingies, to see if they work.
The trimmers shaped like this work pretty well. [link]
I trim my cat's claws. (And it's time I did so again.) But he's a cuddle-bug who doesn't mind me messing with his paws. YcatMV.
Oh Shir, I'm so, so sorry. Lots of ~ma to you and the pup.
