Spike's Bitches 45: That sure as hell wasn't in the brochure.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Yes, Cashmere, it totally is. Just like I rationally know that"hot and sour" is not really Bile Soup, but(along with my preference for egg drop, or as my favorite place calls it, "egg flower") that's kind of where my mind goes.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

Also, I don't think I've seen Rick here before.

Heh, he usually delurks over in Natter, whenever some sort of tenure or other university policy question arises. Also psychology? Or am I misremembering his field?

Yes, psychology. IIRC he studies (at least in part) responses to alcohol, which I remember because of a really funny COMM about vanity Googling.

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

I would like a scone with clotted cream and strawberry jam now please.

I think there's a small part of my brain that is always crying out for a scone with clotted cream and strawberry jam. I need to get to back to England.

Think something deliciously between whipped cream and butter.

Add in a slight tang like sour cream plus the addictive properties of crack and you'll get some idea.

Rick has been around forever, and his posts are always brilliant and helpful.

Damn, once again I no longer have a hairdresser. She left the salon I was going to. Time to start from scratch again.

you can't follow her? I did that a few times. Of course, it helps having a beauty-school dropout in the family. Except for when the local newsbabe gets a bad cut. She says unequivocally that the right-wing talking point that KO's hair isn't his somehow is "complete crap. Because he's been getting the same haircut for twenty years...no stylist, even putting in plugs, would let it look like that. He has a barber, and not an especially good one either. But he's known him a million years. "

I don't feel like going to Boston for a haircut.

Too far...yeah, I couldn't always do that either, my hair grows too fast. (From an equivalent distance, of course...I'm not going to the Oscars and flying people in or anything.)

Plus, I am just guessing, but if she is moving to a salon on Newbury Street, her rates are probably going to go up a bit.

Good for her, bad for you. Well, I hope you find someone soon. And mom really has to stop pointing out the hair mistakes on all the political shows...I tell her politics is showbiz for ugly people, but... Senator Boxer gets high marks, though.
