GC - my OB was awesome, as well and is in Burbank. I'm not sure of insurance stuff or what hospital he has priveleges at, but I know he does high-risk and is really awesome.

Spike's Bitches 45: That sure as hell wasn't in the brochure.
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Oh, GC. I'm so sorry you're going through all of this.
An OB~ma your way.
I finished my job applications! I think. At any rate, I have applied to every job I want to apply to that's been posted so far, and they've pretty much stopped posting -- for a while there were at least ten new postings a day, and the past week it's been one or two every other day or so. So, that's something like 117 of them.
Wow. I believe you weared them down, Hil.
I'm trying to explain how to cook something to someone from London, and we're getting into language confusion. The US meaning of "broil" is the same as the UK meaning of "grill," right?
Gloom, this is so awful. I'm so sorry.
The country would help you, see, but if we legislate any regulations for health insurance companies we'll become a nation of secret muslim communist nazi deathpanels.

Or worse, like France.
Sorry you are getting all this crap GC.

Yes.
GC, this is all so awful. This isn't something an ombudsman with your hospital can help with, is it? Or a case worker at your insurance company?
I just made the best thrown-together improvised meal ever! Kinda based on shahi paneer. Sauteed some chopped onions, added garlic and ginger, then garam masala, coriander, a little chili pepper, and a little turmeric. Then most of a can of chickpeas, most of a can of tomato sauce, and a little can of coconut milk. Cooked that for a while, then added a little box of raisins and a handful of cashews, and then some cilantro. Yum. Eating it with basmati rice.

I tried with the insurance company and they won't assign a case worker as it is not a "disease-related" issue. The hospital idea is a new one. I'll check that out, thanks. I am also waiting for word from an OB I called today to see if she can take me on. I feel like I'm probably stuck with my current OB as many of the other OBs I've called wouldn't take me this close to my delivery date. And she and her office are just tainted to me now. The thought of staying there fills me with rage and sadness that I can't just enjoy the end of my pregnancy and birth. I just hate that office now.
GC, this sucks so much. And you're right, this is supposed to be a happy and joyful time. What you're experiencing is quite the opposite. I hope Aimee's OB can take you.
