So, late once again... I come read a couple of posts now and again until I run across something distressing, and then I wander off again for a while, but I miss you guys, so I thought I'd at least let you all know I'm alive and well(ish). Since I was last active, we moved to Arkansas and we love it, though it took the kids a while. Everyone here is startlingly nice, and it weirded them out at first.
Greg had a car accident and broke his femur. He was out of work so long he lost his job. I started doing proofing part time for my sister and her boss, who are court reporters. When we moved here, we cashed in Greg's retirement and bought a house outright, so we're safe and have a lot less expense than we otherwise would.
Kara's a senior this year. Aidan is a sophomore. I found a therapist I love, finally, and am making interesting changes. Approval for SSI for me is pending, thankfully, since I'm a lot less capable than ever before, and Greg is starting to do some freelance business writing. We're making ends meet (with the occasional crazy scramble), having fun with the kids, and playing Township now and again, but that's about it. We've gotten a lot more boring (I know, right?) but we're doing okay.
Deena! It's good to hear from you! I have been wondering what you were up to these days. I'm glad to hear Arkansas is working out.
Deena! We miss seeing you so much. Good to hear of the life changes. I selfishly hope this means you will have more time to visit here.
Deena Deena Deena!
Deena! Glad to hear things are going vaguely OK at least, though hubs' femur break sounds AWFUL!
Deena! I can't believe Kara is a senior, except I do, when I remember how big my own kids are now. I hope Greg is healing well.
It's so good to see your pixels.
Deena!
I love you guys so much!!
Greg's officially healed, though it aches still. He has a big titanium rod in there. His ribs were broken too, but they healed on their own.
I selfishly hope this means more time for me to visit too! Thanks, Laura.
I'm a little surprised at how well Arkansas is working out. Kara and I are visiting the same therapist and she's a closet buffista, I swear, though she has a coworker she says has a LOT of buffy, angel, and firefly memorabilia all over his desk and she'd be surprised if he wasn't at least a lurker here.
She can finish my sentences. It's kind of eerie -- like a mentally healthy (and damnably skinny, also 10 years younger) me!
My last visit, I had to list women I admire and a huge preponderance of them I met here, so of course I was thinking of you all.
Deena, hi! It's so good to hear from you, and wonderful to hear about Greg and Kara and Aiden. How's your eldest? And what's he doing these days? Did he make the move with you?
Sorry--don't mean to be nosy. It's been awhile. We've missed you, and, well, I *am* nosy! And tremendously glad to see you.
