I like books. I just don't want to take on too much. Do they have an introduction to the modern blurb?

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Oh, holy carp, Raq, that's horrible! Both the excess blood vessel growth and the glue allergy.

That's good info for me to have, though, given that I'm allergic to most adhesives, if I ever need surgery again, I'll tell them to avoid using surgical glue! Yikes. Allergies are like little internal ninjas, hiding and just waiting to attack you when you least expect it.

Occasionally I’m callous and strange

It really ought to be, since it is most likely to be used while the patient is unconscious and unable to self advocate....

:waves at Susan: I'll be flying over you later tonight! It's rather appalling how self isolated I've been....heck, I just flew across the country and deliberately didn't tell anything beyond immediate family for fear of hurting feelings that I didn't make any time for socializing outside of family :/ not that feelings won't be hurt in retrospect, but by then it's a fait accompli so somehow I feel slightly less guilty about not making plans and seeing people? My logic is very flawed, I realize putting it in writing :(

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

I totes forgot to mention in my catch-up that I lost the whole summer to panic and anxiety because I fainted in June and then had to have ALL THE TESTS!

Which is expensive and sucks! But I appear to be actually okay, so hey.

Didja hit your insurance deductible? We actually did that this year, thanks to Tim's RA and possible-but-not-actual horrific lung disease. My therapy visits are SUPER cheap from now through the end of the year! I have to figure out if there's anything else I ought to get taken care of before our deductible resets January 1.

“Not dead yet!”

Also a member of the hysterectomy (due to fibroids) club.

It does appear to be a thing, yeah?

Heh. My deductible, yes. OOP max, no. And my therapy isn't under insurance.

Yeah, we haven't hit OOP max yet, and aren't likely to (though I feel like saying that just invoked a cartoon piano to fall on one of our heads). And my therapist is only in my insurance because I scrambled around to find one who was.

And while I was typing that I just remembered that I owe you an email. Sheesh, sorry!

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

So is my non-Buffista friend the only one who calls that club "hyster sisters"??

"Fuck Western ideologically-motivated gender identification!" Sulu gasped, and came.

This thread is an awesome thread. Fred - damn, that is some intense stuff. Jars OMGWTFBBQ Baby!

I feel like I kinda know what's up with a lot of folks through FB, but for the record currently in the World Of Fay I'm in my 3rd year working in Uganda, happily so, but presently looking for jobs elsewhere for the next Academic Year. (2nd interview for a gig in Suzhou, China, tomorrow, via Skype.)

The Cat Daniel, whom I acquired as a scruffy kitten in The Sahara Desert lo these fourteen years ago, sadly shuffled off his mortal coil within the past twelvemonth, due to cancer of the cat. (FUCK cancer.) it was grim. However he'd had a happy two years here in The Pearl of Africa and had learned to enjoy, in his grumpy neurotic fashion, the company of a wee calico kitten called Miss Darcy. When Daniel died I brought home two floofs to keep Miss Darcy company: Thor and Loki. I have apparently embraced Crazy Catlady hardcore, which is not the wisest choice for somebody with a peripatetic existence, but I don't have kids, so I'm going to try to make it work. (My cats are SUPER AWESOME you guise. SUPER SUPER AWESOME.)

What else? Um...perennially single (see above re: crazy catladydom), still bake excellent cookies & create awesome liquors, currently blonde, got promoted to Head of Department at work this year, teaching Art as well as Drama and English, haven't done much writing other than for work (oh - but I did have a play staged here at the National Theatre last Christmas, and I've written another that will be performed here this Christmas. Although this sounds way fancier in writing than it is in reality), have been acting on and off in various things...er...that's pretty much it.

Oh - although I wrote a rap about Donald Trump recently which I'm rather pleased with, which was a result of obsessing over "Hamilton". So that's a thing.
