"Fuck Western ideologically-motivated gender identification!" Sulu gasped, and came.

Welcome, ehab! (In my head it sounds a lot like Ahab, which gives you this whole grim-faced-obsessive-captain-staring-at-the-horizon-whilst-searching-for-an-amusingly-named-white-whale vibe.)

the ax murderer from the internet!

Hi SLNRLBF here. I was introduced to B.org looking over Askye's shoulder while kissing her neck lovingly . Not a bad way to be introduced to the hive. She shared with me her love and long standing friendship with her fellow buffistas and I was hooked. In addition to being a professional lurker I live in Vermont on lake Champlain. I spend my days working for John Deere and my evenings lurking from my dairy farm. My life has led me to dabble in politics, public office, international agriculture, advocating for family farms, and conservation.

My sweet Askye has taken it upon herself to guide me on my journey of Buffy and my personal favorite Firefly. After having the pleasure of meeting Nora and Tom I look forward to meeting more wonderful Buffistas. If any of you visit Vermont please let me know I'm always up for buying you a pint at the alchemist.

My current project is working to changing my tag to SLNRLH.

Cheers SLNRLBF aka Will or Wilson

...all my words have been taken by my work. - Mala

Wow five Elizabeths! Hopefully that means I can blend into the crowd. Thank you all for the friendly welcome. Fay, I've had a similar reaction seeing my online name as well. I think my first order of business may be changing my name just to confound you all. While I have been known to have the ribald laugh of a sea captain, I can't claim to really ever be grim faced, though a wee bit obsessive perhaps.

Hi SLNRLBF! Now that's a mouthful.

Keep delurking everyone. This is fun!

P.S. Thanks Scrappy for making an effort not to startle me.

Thrive to spite them

YAY my sweetie posted ! I'll be in Vermont next summer and we already have plans to go to the Alchemist.

Since we're talking cats I have two, brother and sister named Dean and Maddie. Dean is named after Dean Winchester because I didn't like the name he came with. Maddie is a black and gray tabby currently sporting a mohawk along her back because she keeps licking all her fur down to what looks like a buzz cut. Dean looks part Balinese, he's long haired, doesn't over groom, but likes to spend his time turning over glasses and the trashcan.

SLNRLH.

!!! (1) Are you guys now married on Second Life? and (2) is there fiancedom happening of which I'm oblivious, or are y'all just thinking about it?

SLNRLBF! Now that's a mouthful.

(I always mentally prounounce it "Slartibartfast". But it actually stands for "Second Life Now Real Life Boyfriend", afaik, rather than being evidence of some deep-seated hatred of vowels. Which you maybe knew already, but just in case, I'm whispering it stealthily for your edification and delight.)

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

I always mentally prounounce it "Slartibartfast".

SO DO I OMG.

Hi, ehab!

ZAR - Oct 03, 2009 12:08:41 am PDT #254 of 3094

Hi, I'm Zar, I have lurked here since mid '04, and got here via the BRQG ('though I cannot, for the life of me remember what insane search string lead me there). I mostly hover in Natter, Bitches, Great Write, Music, Movies, Cable Drama, Boxed Set, and Jossverse.

I'm an USA-ian (Burlingame, Ca.) by birth ('68) but have lived here, in South Africa since 1970. I live in Johannesburg (hi, District 9), Gauteng, with my partner of 13 years and our 2 y.o. beagle. I'm a (fairly new) market researcher, having come late to the game after years of retail. I have lived the Soweto riots, the States of Emergency, the un-banning of the ANC, the end of Apartheid, the election of Nelson Mandela, and the shiny that is true democracy (although, demo-crazy at times).

I came for the funny and stayed for the lively debate, intelligent commentary, great sense of community, and (ahem) asshooks.

I've never had a muffaletta, I have a new crop of cilantro coming in, and I adore olives (particularly in a dirty martini).
