we may not have a need for this thread anymore. With nothing bringing new people to the board, maybe not many lurkers anymore. I would doubt any new ones.
Delurking 1: Because we don't always check our e-mail.
No harm in keeping it open for the month we usually have it open, I would think. Some folks requested it in Bureaublahblah (sorry, can't think of it as anything else at this point) so I'm fully for it.
oh yeah, not saying close it now. I was the requester. I love it, but seems like a thing of the past.
I think that it's also nice for people who don't post a lot to poke their heads back in.
Do you think we should mention it in Press?
Heh. I think we should delurk as the people we were when we joined the board.
Hi, I’m a 20-something who’s desperately pretending to not be miserable. I have not yet learned how to play politics even a little bit, which makes work challenging at time. I really REALLY like you people.
Ha!
I am 27 and work for KU. I just started to officially be diagnosed with chronic depression and chronic insomnia, and I hadn't gotten laid in 7 years. I watch Buffy every Tuesday night, record it with a VCR when I can't be home, and I rush to the other room where my desktop lives to post quickly on Salon.com before Buffy comes back on.
I was 2/3's through a novel about a succubus before the market got flooded with them. (Still bitter, and pissed at myself about THAT one.)
Back when I delurked I had recently gotten married and started working at USC, my mother was suffering from dementia, DH & I were helping my father and brother out with caregiving duties, and we were trying to conceive.

Oh, man. That person was still in college, could and would eat an entire large pizza from Papa John's without gaining weight, owned vinyl pants, and listened to a lot of nu metal.
Hmm, I was newly moved to California and underemployed, waiting for my bar results, and living in my sister's basement.
