Delurking 1: Because we don't always check our e-mail.
Yay, delurkers!
I’ll sum up the year in Goodbye and Good Riddance, so I’ll just say that I’m still living in Pasadena, still married to ND, still loving our furry critters (despite costs of money and heartache), still teaching (though now with added Department Chair flavor), and still very lucky to have amazing friends and family members.
Hello, de-lurkers! And some with really low user numbers!
Oops, I missed Fern up there... hi, Fern! I think I screw up with Read New on this laptop sometimes because the touchpad is so sensitive.
And kat, and Karl, lovely to see you, too, of course.
Hi, Maggie! Yay, SPN!
Hello, de-lurkers! And some with really low user numbers!
I know, right?
Hellooooooooo Buffistas!
I'm mostly lurking these days, because the bartending is not conducive to being in front of a computer in order to post. I am still living in SF with M & our 2 cats, and we're doing pretty good, overall. We're (relatively) sane, healthy, and enjoying it.
Hello all the other de-lurkers! I'll do the squeeking in under the wire thing as well. I do like this thread and the opportunity to come out and wave without it feeling quite so scary and awkward as in the middle of a regular thread. And even my lurking is somewhat sporadic due to somewhat silly work busy-ness, so I quietly and happily watch from the sidelines.
I lurk in Bitches, boxed set (with some skimming for shows I haven't caught up on yet), procedurals, and literary. I'm actually watching much less TV this year, but my steady shows are Dr. Who, Castle, and Eureka.
Last year around this time I started a new job - still with the government, just a different piece of the government - which has been sometimes good (change is good) and sometimes crazymaking (I hate not knowing what I'm doing!). But mostly good. Then this summer I moved from a condo to a townhouse. I love the townhouse but haven't gotten to do any of the painting and changing of ugly light fixtures, so it feels unfinished. But it'll get there, one of these days.
I have one cat now, also known as Sophie. And that's pretty much it really. Thanks for the chance to say hey!
I don't have much delurking to do. If I'd done it a month ago, it'd have been very different. But right now I'm just tired and a little bit scared for my mother and the rest of my family, and stressed about my non-existent car and my skyrocketing expenses, yadda yadda.
But I'm here! I'm here.
If ita ! doesn't have much delurking to do, then I have even less. I've vomited all over Natter, Bitches, and Beep Me over the last 3 1/2 months.
I'm also tired and scared and stressed, but for my husband and new job (that isn't ideal). My meltdowns tend to occur late at night in Natter, and I am increasingly relying on Buffistas to keep me off the ledge.
Really, though, I'm not so bad when I'm not standing in a shitstorm of suckitude. I promise I'm more sane than I've appeared lately.
It's good to see new and old names. I love this place.
I made it before thread closing!
Welcome lurkers and semi-lurkers!
The past year has been...interesting, and was mostly spent focusing on putting one foot in front of the other.
Between that and work being frantically busy lately, I feel like I've been a semi-lurker too. Even with that, the people here made a huge difference in my year and helping me get through it, and for that I will always be grateful.
I'm glad, Perkins. I know it's been crazy for you and I'm glad you're here.
I have been posty mcposterson this year. But I am also happy to be still here. It's been an interesting year but good on the whole, and I feel very fortunate to still be hanging out doing the traveling music school with the same boy and dog.
