Addendum: I line up with the Elizabeths, olives yes, cilantro no, am a dog person, not a cat person.

I bop to Wittgenstein. -- Nutty

I'm Am-Chau (not my real name; nor is the one I use in real life; and I've had my internet name longer than the name by which most people call me, so it's all suitably confusing) and I'm doing this backwards: most people lurk for a while and then begin to post, but I started posting, mostly in Bitches, almost as soon as I'd found the community, then started lurking when I began my BA.

Since then, I've graduated and begun my MA. That's great, but it does cut down my internet time; I can still sometimes be found in the fanfic and Unamerican threads, though I basically lurk even there.

Ann, that's a ferret.

Another Buffista with an orange cat here. Ours is Seamus O'Malley, who occasionally answers to Seamus and never answers to anything else.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

I also have an orange and white cat named Leifur, after Leif Ericsson ('cause he used to be a wanderer). He's a total sweetheart 99% of the time.

Love reading this thread.

I was waiting to post to see whether I could track down my original delurking date, but that will have to wait, I guess. I know I finally delurked for good (or ill?) during the amazingly fun Buffy Quote Deathmatch of Aught __? I had lurked for probably six months before that at least. It was so weird to delurk when I felt like I "knew" people, but knowing full well I was a complete stranger to everyone, so I definitely hear what you're saying, those of you who have pointed out the weirdness of it... but don't let that stop you!

I live in Delaware right now, but I'm making a move to Baltimore in the next couple of months. Very much looking forward to being there, not so much to the actual move.

I think I post much less than it actually feels like I do - hard to remember that no one knows I'm here reading when I don't post anything. When I post, it's usually Boxed Set, Natter, Supernatural, Spoilage Light, Other Media, Bitches. More or less in descending order of frequency. I read GWW (of late, I gotta say, go Gud!), Spoilers, and Comedy, too, and probably have looked in occasionally on every other thread.

I've only been to one F2F - DC, but I was also in DC for the Nilly tour, saw the awesome Laura when visiting another friend in Fla., and had a lovely dinner w/ lisah and sarameg during Allyson's book's tour of the world. Good times.

I ♥ this place, and I love seeing these new names. Fun!

"The fact that we live at the bottom of a deep gravity well, on the surface of a gas covered planet going around a nuclear fireball 90 million miles away and think this to be normal is obviously some indication of how skewed our perspective tends to be."

Oof. I'm TomW. I started on the TableTalk thread many years ago and my participation has declined to the point where I don't even lurk. I'm only posting now because Nora Deirdre promised me my choice of a cider donut or the "good" loving.

I'm an expat Brit and newly-minted U.S. Citizen. I'm married to Nora Deirdre; yes, we met because of this whole "talking about Buffy on the internet" thing.

We have the two best cats in the entire world, which is pretty lucky for us. Taz is a gray tabby and Marley is a ginger tabby. The tabby is the official state cat of Massachusetts, by the way.

In my spare time I brew beer, drink beer, write poorly punctuated fiction that you will never read, use Gimp to insert Daleks into famous works of art, and hunt the most dangerous game of all: Monopoly.

You will also note that I use the Oxford comma. If this displeases you then I can provide a list of awful places where you can go, but I must warn you that this list will also feature an Oxford comma.

"Fuck Western ideologically-motivated gender identification!" Sulu gasped, and came.

Jings, this is a delightful thread! Hello and welcome to the delurking people!

::tries not to bop to Vanilla Ice tune. unsuccessfully::

So, I'm Fay, aka FayJay, and I've been a Buffista since I stumbled across the World Crossing com. I'm mostly to be found in Bitches, Fanfic and Supernatural these days, with occasional forays into other TV threads.

I'm an expat Brit currently living in Bangkok with the cat I picked up in the Sahara while I was living in Egypt. I'm a teacher in an International School.

I am pro: the serial comma, olives (in moderation) and cilantro. I pronounce amych "ah-mitch".

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Any right-thinking person would agree that it's Ammitch and Ammith.

This is the coolest thread. Why didn't we do this years ago? Delurking amnesty, hooray!

Amy - Oct 02, 2009 6:01:32 am PDT #207 of 3094
Because books.

Sigh. Right-thinking people know it's a-mick and a-myth.

This thread is delightful, indeed. Welcome, everyone!
