You're wrong about River. River's not on the ship. They didn't want her here, but she couldn't make herself leave. So she melted... Melted away. They didn't know she could do that, but she did.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

beginning to wonder if there was a weirdo rapture or something

Well, I'm still here. Am I not weird enough?

Since the last Delurking thread, I had a baby! Aeryn is now 9 months old and freakishly mobile. Here she is a few weeks ago at the park: [link]

Not much else has changed - same apartment, same job.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

hooray for de-lurkers! I love you all. (in a totally non-creepy way, I swear!)

Why isn't everyone pelting me with JOY, dammit? - Zenkitty

Nobody should have to live in El Centro, that place was maybe one step up from Yuma. Although, at least Yuma didn't have the Imperial fault under it.

Also, Yuma doesn't have the...aroma that El Centro does. (Seriously, what do they farm there? Dang. Makes the smell of the Central Valley seem pleasant by comparison).

Since last de-lurking, I became a sort-of home owner. Mom desperately needed to refi, but her credit was crap, so we put me on the deed so we could use my credit for the refi. Her health is still less than great, so being close is optimal. Being a "home owner" so far has just meant more bills, but I believe that's a pretty common phenomenon.

I graduated (finally) in May 2011. BS in Organizational Behavior (Magna Cum Laude, sorry, really proud of that, so tooting my own horn, toot toot). When I started the degree, I thought it would lead to advancement in the company, but that start was about 5 minutes before the economy crashed. Now I'm just pleased that the multiple waves of layoffs have passed me by (knock wood), and keeping my head down. So yeah, still in my job (document control at a tech firm). Looking for a Master's program because employer will help to pay, so might as well. Though I have been enjoying this "free time" thing that's all the rage.

Still in San Diego, still single (having zero luck with Soul Geek or eHarmony...Geek2Geek, eh tommyrot? Hmmm). Adopted a cat left abandoned by former neighbors in December . Lost a cat in September to lymphoma. One cat that was neither new nor sick this year.

Other than that, still swing dancing, still Irish dancing (though neither as much as I should). Still wishing that some Buffistas would move here. (Seriously, it's really pretty and stuff!)

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

I'm not a Lurker. Occasionaly, I play on on TV, but I always come back.

I'm Erin, old-time curmudgeonly Buffista since 2001.

Nothing much changed this year except I got older (woo, 39!) and I started up my freelance writing service -- www.eringriggs.com for the benefit of any lurkers who may have missed it, and might need some writing done, a MS copyedited and/or critiqued, anything edited, copyedited or proofread, or a resume and cover letter created.

Still in KC, KS area, still happily married, still tryim.g to get off the train to Brokesville.

I'm happier this years, although the money stress is...stressey.

Well. I tried to lurk less in the last year, but I keep finding myself on ships without good internet. I love my job, but it does make me miss the internet!

Anyway. I guess I still technically live in Massachusetts, but I'm hardly there. Currently I'm on the Sapphire Princess which sails out of Los Angeles and I'll be here until the end of March-ish. Not 100% sure on my disembark date yet. We're doing mostly Hawaii and Mexican Riviera runs, which is nice! We're also doing a run down to Samoa and French Polynesia, which I am VERY excited about. I miss the Sun, the ship was just smaller and more closely-knit, but I'm growing to like this one as well. I got in trouble last week, which has never really happened in my entire life, and the HR Manager basically detests me, but what can you do. I made a mistake, it had never happened before and will never happen again, so I'm trying not to beat myself up about it too much.

I miss my dog? And television. And I'm also still single. But oh well, alas. I'm doing enough traveling to last a lifetime, so I'm trying not to let other things bother me!

EpicTangent, I will be in San Diego in two days. Not sure how much time I'll have off, but - I'll be there on Thursday!

Our wings are not tired

Which days are you in Los Angeles? I believe I've sailed on the Sapphire Princess. It would have been a few years ago though

Let me know! Maybe we can get dinner or something! (Debate Lex v. Bray, maybe. ;)...Now really hoping I remember right that you were the other shamefaced Tribe fan).

zuisa, what ND said. Let us know when you're going to be in LA.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Zuisa, I didn't realize you live in MA, you should meet up with some of the local buffistas next time you're back here.

I would love to meet up with Massachusetts people!!! I will also compile a list of the dates I'm in L.A. We actually dock in San Pedro, and I never have too much time off, but I usually can swing a couple hours. Turnaround Day is BUSY.

Epic, I am most certainly the other shamefaced Tribe fan. I won't be free for dinner, though, I'll only possibly have a couple hours off in the afternoon. I think we sail in the early evening!
