Is it normal to be planning a Halloween costume for my dog? Have I become a dog-person?
Hi, BJ! I think that's perfectly ok. It's much easier to get a dog to do silly cheesy things that are not its own idea, that it is to get a cat to do them. And being bi-petual is a lovely thing, too.
I'm wearing green nail polish right now, AIFG!
Hi, delurkers and re-lurkers everywhere. Love this thread. Love the board. I'm not nearly around as much as I used to be. Or maybe, I'm around as much but I don't post as much. But I still love my Buffistae as much as ever.
So far this year, I've changed jobs three times. I bought a condo, turned one of the bedrooms into a JLo worthy walk in closet, and filled it with way more shoes than one person needs. I got a black cat named Rosario and I'm convinced she is a demon. I dated someone new for the first time since my marriage ended in 2008. It did not go well, but it went, so that's a good thing. I am going to Egypt and Ethiopia in December to celebrate my 40th birthday. And I got into this here thread just under the wire. Good Times.

Ooh, that sounds really neat! And I for one am always glad to hear you talk about SYTYCD!!
I am much the same as last year. I own a house now. Which is freaky. And have a roommate, which isn't bad. And read on my phone a lot these days, which makes posting harder. I'm still never home, but that sometimes means I get to see more buffistas!
KAT!!! email me about Ethiopia!
I hadn't checked here in a while - HELLLOOO lurkers and less-frequent posters. WELCOME and WELCOME BACK.
Hee. I went to find my post from last year, and of course, it was right under the wire, too.

Apparently in addition to my other traits, I am also a procrastinator. Hi! I don't really have all that much to update this year. We just finished up year nine of our non-profit, and I still feel unbelievably fortunate to be able to live in this house and do this work with this partner. Of course I am feeling that somewhat less right at this particular moment because it also means I have to do this paperwork. But on the whole, life is very good.
Did all you movers update your spot on the buffista map? Not that you have to! Privacy is fine! But if you want to, update!
Hi, meara! I love hearing what y'all have to say about SYTYCD. Did you see Mark from Hawai'i on DwtS this week? So, so pretty.
Hi, msbelle! You're so much closer now. I might have to go to TX for work sometime soon. I will definitely email you about my trip. I'm going the week after Christmas. I'm ridiculously excited about it.
Hello again my beloved Buffistas. How nice it is to read all your pixels again this year. So happy for the manageable little Delurking thread. How I wish I remembered where the knitters are posting, I could ask them about EZ Sox for beginners. Or I might find what’s the what with the working on a cruise ship life, because I have fantasies about running away to sea.
Most of my vital statistics remain the same from last year. I never post anywhere, avoid Facebook and seem to be very much averse to all sorts of modern technology. I do make an exception for my Kindle; the LED reading light that’s part of the cover is made to please me.
Still saving the world, one kitty at a time.
Currently my sister’s cat Pancake is living in a cage in our guest bedroom because a) she broke her left front foreleg and b) she freaked right the frick out over having an e-collar, a splint, a bellyful of meds and/or being caged, take your pick. I think she actually had a psychotic episode because she ripped all the nails off her hind feet fighting the splint and cage. In desperation we removed the splint and brought her over here for some quiet time to rest and heal and hope for the best. Happily two weeks have gone by without trauma, so it seems to be working! Hooray! It’s my job to keep her confined because walking around or, heaven forfend, jumping off something, would not be very good for the unsplinted broken leg.
Sadly my life is all woe and trauma concerning the elderly in-laws. They have problems ranging from dementia, denial and the domestic violence I’ve just discovered. My little feewings awe all hurty because they want no “people in the house” for Thanksgiving. Turns out I am responsible for cooking it and arranging delivery because I must never be there while the Recluse is in residence… and they seem to think that saying Don’t Take It Personally means everything is automatically all right.
Other than that I’m mostly well and fairly happy. I have sadness because my cat Squeak, guardian angel and Reservoir of Comfort, is growing old. He used to be a Totoro-caliber fat and happy “bus cat,” and now he’s getting skinny and I remember why I called him Legs back in the days of his golden youth.
