You know, I've saved lives. Dozens. Maybe hundreds. I reattached a girl's leg. Her whole leg. She named her hamster after me. I got a hamster. He drops a box of money, he gets a town.

That's the pain / That cuts a straight line down through the heart / We call it love

Woohoo! I'm in the 12South area and work in Hillsboro Village, but could do pretty much anywhere in town (or elsewhere -- I need to do more exploring!). I'm going to be out of town this weekend and probably won't have much access to email, but if you send me a note at my profile address we can make plans!

To understand what happened at the diner, we shall use Mr. Papaya! This is upsetting because he's the friendliest of fruits.

And in other Nerd City news, I now think of Victor Infante as Zathras and wonder if he too is trained in crisis management.

Trust me on this: Every day's a crisis in Nerd City.

meara - Oct 01, 2009 8:17:23 pm PDT #189 of 3094

Wow, loving the delurkers! And such low usernumbers, you've clearly been lurking a long long time!!

I'm meara. Which is not my name in real life, but is my name all over the whole internet. And which I very much answer to in real life, and encourage people to do.

I was initially brought to TableTalk in late '99 by Vortex, and was quickly hooked. I'm a verb around here, cause my addiction got me in trouble at work and I started only reading in the evenings, not at work, and then responding in big catch-up posts. :) These days I don't have to do that, because I work from home...

I used to be a DCista, but a couple years ago moved to Seattle. I travel like mad for work, and am as likely to be found on a plane or away from home as at home (but it means I get to visit other buffistas in person a lot!)

I can be found in Bitches, Natter, Reality, Lit, Tech...so, um, not the show threads, or movies, or anything to do with Supernatural...

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Hi all, and a hearty welcome to all the lurkers and semi-lurkers.

Here I am Burrell, named after my cat, in most other arenas I go by Norah. I would say I delurked back on TT, but that would imply I lurked before. What really happened is I saw a bunch of funny, charming people posting about Buffy and promptly introduced myself. And then got grilled by msbelle, good naturedly of course.

I live in LA, in the house where I grew up, with my husband and our two kids, a 6 yo girl and a 4 1/2 yo boy. I teach writing at USC, I even sometimes try to write myself. I post in a whole bunch of threads, mostly Natter and Bitches.

"We have trust issues." Mylar

Yay, new people! Yay, awesome new thread!

I'm kat p. and I've been a Buffista all my life even though I didn't know it until I started lurking in the Buffy threads on Table Talk. I delurked when the migration to WX happened (I think) because folks were talking about where people on the board were from and I got to chime in because at the time I was in S. America (Chile), which sounded very far away and exotic. In 2002, I moved to NYC, spent six years there before moving last year to LA. Trudy Booth was the first Buffista I met in person. It was memorable. Since then, I've met lots of Buffistas in small bunches, but never been to any of the f2fs because I fear the crowd overload. What else? Hmmm. I'm a teacher, although now I work in education philanthropy (not giving away my own money, sadly). I was married, although now I'm not. I'll be 40. Not this year, but some year soon. These days, I can mostly be found in Premium Cable (for the True Blood), Heroes (for the pretty but stupid) or Reality TV (for pretty much every show under the sun - although my heart belongs to AI/SYTYCD). I skip, skim and lurk in Natter but couldn't hope to keep up enough to post.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

Hooray, delurkers!

I'm a theatrical lighting designer doing the freelance thing in Chicago. I also teach during the summer. I live on the northside with my 2 cats.

Around the time Firefly was canceled I followed a random link to b.org and slept very little in the following days as I sifted through the FAQ and assorted threads. I think I actually delurked in Literary after telling NoiseDesign about finding people on the internet who kept making me pull out my dictionary. This is my first (and only) foray into fandom.

Now, I'm mostly in Natter and I follow along in Supernatural, Jossverse, Minearverse and Procedurals when time allows.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

Ice Ice Abby
lwadams Ice Ice Abby...

Subsequent de-lurkers, I apologize that you're left out of the filk.

dcp, I knew NOT that you filked. Oh the things we learn!

RAYNE! Good to see you! I always loved those scripts.

I've been here since TT. I have been to every F2F.

Sassy - Oct 01, 2009 10:50:06 pm PDT #194 of 3094
'Til we dance away...

I'm Sassy, but I'm actually a Katherine (in case we want to take on the Amys and Stephanies, we might have a shot) and I have delurked lots of times but can't stick with it because I guess I'm shy.

I found Buffy through the Buffistas back on TT when I was still in high school because I loved the Quotable Buffy thread so much I started watching the show back in season 4. I'm just now watching Angel for the first time, as my husband and I are on an epic rewatch- currently on B6/A3.

I'm a retail store manager and I have lived in Montana for almost 4 years but I'm from Seattle and miss it every day. I have a 3 year old stepdaughter and 2 cats- Murphy (who is orange) and Killian who were indeed named after beers. I live for baseball.

I read most of the TV bucket threads- I watch most of what's in non-fiction and sometimes post about PR, and read the other threads for Mad Men, House, and now Glee. I always stay about 500 posts behind in Bitches and 1000 in Natter so I know there will always be something to read.

How are you me? You need to stop that. Only I can be me. ~Kara

I'm Deena, and I first delurked in 2002, sometime in December, and was promptly called a sockpuppet. Good times. After I actually registered, I discovered that "Read New" thing. I'd been writing my last post number down every time I had to close the browser window.

I live on the east side of Cleveland, Ohio, and I build websites, run a small press, write marketing materials for a local business, none of which pay very well, and try not to take on any new projects...

I used to post in Bitches every day and ten times on Tuesdays, and everyone got to know my kids, Kara, aka raptorgirl, and Aidan, spikelet, and Nick... who I don't think anyone renamed. I've been to SF twice, once to meet Nilly and once for the F2F, both times due to the generosity of the Buffistas. My first Buffista meeting was the lovely Laura. I was awkward and easily discombobulated both times.

Then my health got worse and my work got distracting, and the kids got more demanding, and now I mostly read, though I do post in Tech and GWW now and again.
