I knit things that are a) square or b) rectangular.
Ha! This is me. I love knitting but actual shaped things just add stress and takes away the pleasure.
I made one sweater once, and now everyone has expectations. I've gone back to square shaped things.
Me three! But I'm knitting a sweater now that is all 80's old school fat sleeves and therefore...made of four rectangular pieces. Hee!
I want to learn how to knit.
Ooh, I'm knitting my first sweater - started last night. It's a top-down raglan sweater that I'm knitting in an undyed wool yarn. Very pretty white and gray yarn.
Mom says she's going to teach me to knit but so far it hasn't happened.
sumi my first (and only) sweater was a Cascade blue top-down raglan sweater. It was a gift for my mom and it pilled up a storm. I don't think she can wear it anymore, I suspect it's given up the ghost. She wore it every time I saw her for six months. I think she was hinting for another.
I've tried to knit, but I always forget if I'm knitting or purling when I put it down for a while. Crochet is much simpler.
I know someone who learned to knit watching clips on youtube. I am happy to teach people to knit, but you'd have to come here.
I've learned new techniques from youtube but I learned to knit from an aunt and classes.
I took a class to do Fair Isle knitting, learned, and promptly never used it again. I would have to teach myself that technique again. I found it really stressful navigating two colors at once.
