Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Hi, I'm Sheryl. Here, as in many places, I appear to be the only one. (or at least the only one with that spelling)

I've been hanging around the Buffistas since the TT days. I post regularly in Natter and mainly lurk in other threads, like Procedurals, Music and Movies.

I live in Maryland with my husband and two cats. I work for the government doing research. Ok, part of the time I'm doing research and part of the time I'm doing lab manager stuff.

I'm a filker and attend a lot of conventions.

The more I learn, the more I realize how little I know.

Hi, I'm dcp. I used to be a champion lurker -- I first came across Buffista posts at WorldCrossing, but didn't visit often because the site worked sooooooo slowly on my dial-up connection. Buffistas.org was (and is) such an amazing improvement! I almost de-lurked after the first few episodes of Firefly, because I started to think I might have something to say, but then I read that the show had been cancelled. I almost delurked mid-way through Buffy season 7, because I liked the first half and started to think I might have something to say, but then I disliked most of the second half of the season and de-lurking just to make negative comments struck me as rude. I finally registered on the board and de-lurked in March of 2004 in Minearverse when Tim called out the lurkers to show some support for Wonderfalls. Sorry it wasn't enough, Tim.

I chose my initials for my board name because there were already enough Davids posting that they had to use nicknames to tell them apart. Lower case because I'm lazy.

I still don't have much to say and I don't post often, but I stop by the board most days and I think of myself as a regular here. I enjoy the watch-n-posts for various shows, and I'll usually pipe up when the conversation turns to aviation, kites, astronomy, photography, computers, genealogy, or the Indian sub-continent.

I've been to the F2Fs at Madison and Seattle, and had a grand time at both.

I live near Kansas City, Missouri.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

I'm a filker and attend a lot of conventions.

I don't think I knew that! I have a friend who is also a filker and attends a lot of conventions.

P-C,

Oh, who? (I know Seanan, if that's who you're referring to)

I tend to listen more than anything else, but listeners are part of the filk community too.

I thought it might be....

Jean A. - Oct 01, 2009 3:11:47 pm PDT #165 of 3094

OK, here goes. My name is Jean, just like my user name. I was a fairly regular poster here many moons ago -- I think I first de-lurked sometime after "The Body" aired. Then I dropped out for a while -- couldn't keep up with the pace -- but came back to lurk a long time ago. And I've been lurking ever since. I've often been tempted to make my presence known, but felt a little creepy about it.

I live in Minneapolis with my orange cat, Leo. I am of no particular age (hey, that's my story). A few weeks ago I embarked on a brand new adventure -- I quit the job I'd had for 13 years and went back to school full-time to get a second degree in Music Therapy. (My first degree was in English.)

I'm a big fan of the serial comma and have no issues with cilantro.

Because books.

Welcome, Mala, SolangeK, and Jean! (dcp, you're practically a regular!)

Our wings are not tired.

This is going to end up being my favorite thread! Filled with awesome! I love reading the posts from those I already know and love and have hugged and kissed F2F. And yet there is a detail or two I missed somehow, or forgot, because brain like sieve. And the delurkers! I knew you were there and it fills me with joy to see your fonts.

I'm another Laura.

Woooooot! I'm delighted to meet you. I like you already!

Hi! I'm Rayne.

I supported you, although not in email. I can't begin to count the number of scripts I enjoyed thanks to your efforts. Good to see ya.

The coolest kid around town.

Indeed.

New peoples! This is SO FREAKING AWESOME!!

THIS!

I think I'm the only Fred around here.

Maybe not here, but my FIL and his father were Freds and delightful fellows, so we like em. I also have a fish named Fred, but the other 3 fish are Wilma, Barney, and Betty. So rather a theme there.

And speaking of pets, in addition to the 4 fish, we have a lovely 13yo Springer Spaniel named Brandy and a cat named Georgia. Georgia claims we don't feed her enough.

I live in Pittsburgh and I'm a geek.

Welcome, Mala! I only lived in Pgh for a year, but I loved the people so very much. Awesome place. I need to spend more time there.

I'm SolangeK. I've been lurking for so long here, anything other than this delurking thread would have just felt...kinda icky.

Seriously, with an id number of 89 that is a whole lotta lurking. It is great to see you posting.

My name is Jean, just like my user name.

Real name users FTW!

Trust my rage

This thread is awesome. It's like a buffista census.
