I've never had the misfortune of having to use Lotus Notes. Outlook, on the other hand, impedes my ability to do work in a hundred tiny ways every day.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

A year and change ago I was hired at this firm temp-to-perm. I'm still temp-to-perm.

And I've survived two lay-offs.

Last week, however, they told me they'll be doing another staff cut.

And I just got an email from HR to stop by at the end of the day.

Soo.... I'm looking at a very long hour and a half and then probably bye-bye job. I assume they've already told the agency and I'm in line for work next week with them? Who knows.

Just spoke to two people who would be references. Getting together some e-mails. Pretty sure I have this month's rent covered. Should NOT have gotten sushi for lunch today and I blame y'all for that.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Kevin Pereira of G4’s Attack of the Show solicited contributors to a Keyboard Cat-themed art show and auction.

Oh, they showed some of those on the show; they were really cool!

Grah, Trudy, I'm sorry. I hope you're wrong.

Thanks, Gud. I'm pretty sure it is.

I don't know how/if I can collect unemployment if the agency can't get work for me. (NY, it seems, continues to spiral. We never really recovered from 2001 I think before the latest hit.)

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Shit, Trudy. Fingers crossed that, um, there's some other reason you've been asked to come in? I don't know what that would be but I'm sure there's something.
