...one out of every three New Jersey conservatives think that Obama could be the anti-Christ. To be precise, 18% of self-identified conservatives affirmatively say that Obama is the anti-Christ, with 17% not sure. Among the self-identified Republican label, it's 14% who say Obama has the number 666 hidden underneath his hair, plus 15% who aren't sure.
Whoa. I saw in the article they compared that with a truther survey. But they way they put it "We've got 32% of Jersey Democrats who say that George W. Bush had advance knowledge of the 9/11 attacks". That could mean so many different things, the intelligence was there but the Bush administration didn't put it together, they were informed that a plot was in the works and didn't respond well, they new what was going to happen and intentionally let it unfold, and they were actually behind it. That runs the spectrum from reasonable to tinfoil hat.
Do you believe that Obama is the anti-christ? Doesn't really have a category other than tinfoil hat. I suppose that if it was phrased Do you believe Obama could be the anti-christ, then you could say that their religious belief might make them say anyone could be the anti-christ.
In any event, I don't think the questions are really all that comparable unless the truther questions are more specific.
I hope you didn't think I thought you were anti-ACORN, Gud. Even if you were, it's nothing to me. I just have been hearing it from all over and wanted to...clarify?
(My dad actually called me to see if this would get me in any trouble. Which a) Haven't been there since 2007. b)his and just about everyone else's understanding of how they work is way off and c) I'm not really sure they've done anything to be in trouble for.
14% who say Obama has the number 666 hidden underneath his hair
This is the one that makes me blink - have they SEEN our President? He doesn't have a whole lot of hair to be hiding Satanist tattoos underneath.
Yikes, Jesse. As a minion who just had that meeting, I was (and still am) pretty shocked about getting called out like that. I didn't get it! I really have no idea where all that came from.
Yeah, I don't know. It's hard because it's coming to me second-hand, but from my boss. If my boss thinks she's got a problem, it's actually a problem for both of us -- regardless of what's really happening. So I think that's the point I really need to make -- not that I think there's anything wrong with her, but if my boss does, she needs to think about how she's coming across.
Edit: And she's still just a kid, so there's some level of general office politics stuff I think she legitimately doesn't get.
I think now about how I was in an office even 5 years ago and cringe a bit. To look back 10 years, well, I am kinda amazed how the young twenty-somethings in my department handle themselves.
57 degrees this morning. Why, hello Fall!
Birthday Happies, Perkins!!
So I got in at 8 for and 8:30, only to check email and learn it's been moved to 9. I shouldn't resent that, right?
I would totally resent that.
I, OTOH, got here at 7:51 and class starts at 7:50. Oops. Ran into accidents, a train, etc. I tried calling in to let the office know and no one picked up. Thank heavens the Spanish teacher across the hall doesn't have a 1st period class and she wrangled my class into her room.
Stressful mornings. I hates them.
Happy Birthday, Perkins! Next time I see you I'm going to buy you a drink!
The NJ poll was of likely voters, so the numbers don't extend to the general population even if their sampling methodology was sound. And the margin of error is +/-4.5%.
This is the one that makes me blink - have they SEEN our President? He doesn't have a whole lot of hair to be hiding Satanist tattoos underneath.
The thing about 666 under the hair wasn't a separate question in the survey; that's the reporter rephrasing the Anti-Christ question.
I think the real story is that 6% of respondents said the federal goverment should be eliminated entirely. Anarchy in NJ!
