Back of my neck. It's just beautiful. Kristen says she will take a pic.
Can't wait to see it!
I'm trying to remain not angry this week, but:
1. Grace's GI ordered for her to get all of her food over an hour instead of over 2+ which is what is going on. The advantage is that it's more normal for her to get a bolus feed and also she can get more time not attached to something. The doctor on this week at TK has said to not change her feeding order. GRRR. hulk smash.
2. Kids want out of my class because it's too hard (fair enough). Their parents enable them because they just "want their kid to be happy." One called the school board (!!) and the school board member said to move them out of AP. Seriously?
3. So the solution to #2 is that they have renamed my class from AP to Honors for this one child whose parent's complained. But she is remaining in the same class and expected to do the same work. So, essentially she'll do the same work and get LESS credit.
4. There is no way we are ready for academic decathlon.

Holy crap.
Oh, Kat. Ugh.
I have to say it's actually hysterical. She came to me with the slip to sign her in and sign her out. Technically right now, we aren't even in A.P. All my kids are taking Literary Analysis this semester. So she went from 2nd period Lit Analysis to 2nd period Honors Lit Analysis. I pointed out that she will have to do the same work etc. And she was crushed. Then I said, "But since everyone else in this room is in regular and you're in Honors, I'll have to have a tougher grading scale for you."
hahahahahahahahahha.
But wait...AP classes are specific, right? I mean, you have to be accredited to teach them, and won't this fuck up all the OTHER kids' credits? Or is it like a college class that you can take for grad or undergrad credits -- you just add a research paper or two?
The problem is there is no where else to put kids. With budget cuts, there are no more classes. My first period is tiny (19) and has to stay AP because there are about 10 kids who want AP and they can't be be put in my true AP class which has 38.
It's a split roster. The class is certified for AP. To go down is no problem for certification. We're on a 4 x 4 block, which means in a 20 week period, we cover an entire year's worth of curriculum. AP is taught for the full school year, instead of just a year compressed into 20 weeks., so the other 20 weeks have to be named something.
I'm a terrible and disgusting mother. I took a fry off of Noah's plate and then he yelled at me, "I want my french fry back." I took the chewed fry out of my mouth and gave it to him. He promptly ate it.
What is wrong with me?
That doesn't even count as bad mothering. Hell with birds, that's ideal mothering.
