I don't really have a security blanket... unless you count Mr. Pointy.

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

. I particularly liked this part of her apology:

I need to make it clear to all young people that I handled myself inappropriately and it’s not the way to act — win or lose, good call or bad call, in any sport, in any manner.

I am,however, annoyed that the NYT article said things like "She approached the judge and appeared to threaten her," and "The line judge appeared to comment to the chair umpire on court that she felt threatened, although what she said was not audible."

I think that it's irresponsible to report on what appears to be.

Always Anti-fascist!

Yeah, totally. And yeah, I think she's getting disproportionate heat, not that threats are cool.

“Not dead yet!”

Seriously. I'm figuring that Jimmy Connors and/or McEnroe said some fairly questionable things, back in the day.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

Sure, but neither one was standing there in a little skirt. THAT'S the difference that springs to my mind.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

I can see fining her more, but the people who are calling for her to be kicked out of the USTA? Banned for a year?

Latrell Spreewell, after he choked his coach and threatened to kill him, was initially suspended for 10 days. His team eventually voided his contract, and he got that overturned in arbitration.

I know. That's kind of what I was thinking too.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

Frozen cookies can hurt, dude. And also very distract-y.

A Trefoil could make an awesome shirikin.

I love Buffistas.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Hey NYCistas! Who should I vote for for Public Advocate tomorrow? The voter's guide I got in the mail told me nothing except that everyone running also has a Facebook and Twitter account.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.
