Wow. That was a thing. I can't lie--I think that Serena is usually so composed I'd be *very* surprised if she lost it enough to say she'd kill someone, even allowing for hyperbole. She's been mad for a lot of the match, but that's a lot of mad.
ita, you may not have seen it yet, but in her press conference, she said she misheard what the lineswoman said, and thought she was saying Serena had threatened to kill her, which she didn't.
What she did say was something along the lines of "I will take this fucking ball and shove it down your fucking throat."
I only watched the second half of the press conference, so I hadn't caught that.
Now, what she *did* say would have had the same result, but it's not a death threat.
Did you see the foot fault there? I didn't see one in the replay.
And Aurelia, ND and I were both so sad to hear your news. Best luck finding something else soon, but what a loss for the community. And for you.

I'm not completely unemployed (which I think makes me ineligible for unemployment - I'm not sure how that works), but that was approx. 1/3 of my income and my source of insurance. It is strange to suddenly have an empty calendar for October and December (and beyond).

Fifty-seven years ago, Nobel laureates Alan Hodgkin and Andrew Huxley came up with a model to calculate the power behind electrochemical currents in neurons--a great step forward in understanding how the brain worked and how it divvied up resources. The only problem was that their subject was not a person, or even a rodent, but a giant squid. Today, researchers announced that they have found a more accurate model for mammal brains, which elevates some of their transactions to three times more efficient than that of the squid-based equations.
