I don't give a good gorram about relevant, Wash. Or objective. And I ain't so afraid of losing something that I ain't gonna try to have it. You and I would make one beautiful baby. And I want to meet that child one day. Period.

Always Anti-fascist!

Of course, Nilly, any time you marry your partner-for-life is very lucky...I just remembered your fondness for 17s.(maybe that sort of thing is American superstition, though.)

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

The best way from laguardia to anywhere is taxi, unfortunately.

Yay for the corporate AmEx then. We're spoiled in Chicago.

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

And I laughed. I said, for parents, their lives end. And it begins again, but as something entirely different and entirely transformed.

Oh, God yes. That other person I was before parenthood is still here, but the life she lived? Transformed, or utterly gone. Maybe recoverable, eventually, when Matilda is older and more self-sufficient, but even so it will be radically different.

(I remember, so vividly, going to dinner at Helmand right before my water broke with Hec and a bunch of localistas and Aims, in town for a brief visit, and being acutely aware that this would likely be our very last grown-up outing together as a couple for a long, long time. And I'm still so tickled that that last outing was with Buffistas.)

What we call the beginning is often the end. And to make an end is to make a beginning. The end is where we start from.

I really love this quote. Probably would have ptui'd at it not long ago, out of resentment.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

Dana, I'm not watching, but I suspect I just ran across the thing you're thinking of?

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

Happy Birthday, P-C!

Nilly, I hope your wedding and your wedded life is full of joy.
