Skipping for Buffista Calendar birthdays purposes:
First of all, Trudy, I'm sorry I missed your birthday yesterday! I hope you have a good day, and wish you a happy second-day-of-your-new-age and a wonderful year!
Second, today is Polter-Cow's birthday, so lots of wishes for him, as well!
And third, since I have no idea how my computer time is going to look like in the coming week, here's a list of upcoming Buffistas birthdays, so I won't feel bad for missing anybody, OK?
So, tomorrow, Sunday, the 13th, will be billytea's birthday.
Tuesday, the 15th, will be Nora Deirdre'a birthday.
Thursday, the 17th will be a double Buffista event, because it's both Perkins' birthday, as well as the Phoenix Board's birthday.
Friday, the 18th will be erikaj's birthday.
Saturday, the 19th, will be another one of these lovely double events, both lori's birthday as well as PMM & Paul's anniversary.
Sunday, the 20th, will be Sue's birthday.
Monday, the 21st, will be Sophia Brooks' birthday.
Wednesday, the 23rd will be Emmett's birthday.
(Goodness, if I ever try to plan a time-away-from-a-computer again, please remind me to choose a less events-fortunate week, OK?)
Lots and lots of wishes for all of them, in advance!
Sooo. Somebody on my flist mentioned that there was a sale at the Riverkids Shop and linked to an additional 10% discount. Somehow I found myself buying a purse for my mom and for my sister-in-law (and possibly one for my aunt). And then I bought a bunch of twisted silk scarves operating on the theory that I could keep a few and give a few as Christmas or birthday presents.
I meant to be slothful today, but instead I'm running down a list of chores as if my mother were visiting tomorrow, AND I'm probably a third of the way through my Christmas shopping.
Oops?
NILLY ARE YOU GETTING MARRIED TODAY?!?!?!?!
(I mean Sunday -- I guess it's still Saturday there, huh?)
I'm with Jesse with the yelling! Is it today?
Aurelia, I am so so so very sorry. How sucky not just to have you and all of your colleagues out of work, but to lose a cultural institution is just depressing.
And you're worrying about BIRTHDAYS?
Woman, it's okay. We'll take care of announcing our own birthdays.
YOU ARE GETTING MARRIED!! WOOOOOOOOT
YAY Monday indeed! So excited for you!
It's the night-after-Saturday now, so there's still the whole of Sunday (finishing the getting-confirmations-from-people-that-they're-coming, making Hagai's kipa, and the whole mikve deal), and then Monday (me wearing all the costume upon costume that is hair and makeup and the lots).
And then, I'm told, a couple of hours of saying "Hello, thank you for coming!" followed by another couple of hours of saying "Goodbye, thank you for coming!".
And then, going home.
Everybody is excited but me. I try to make sure that all that needs to be taken care of will indeed be taken care of. I think I do understand what's going on, it's not denial (I think...). But I'm the least excited person off everybody who were here on shabbat (my roommates, my siblings, and a few more friends. My parents were over at Hagai's parents place, with lots of other guests, as this is their custom).
