Well, a gathering is brie, mellow song stylings; shindig, dip, less mellow song stylings, perhaps a large amount of malt beverage, and hootenanny, well, it's chock full of hoot, just a little bit of nanny.

But we're applying American law and practice on an international case. Not that I think it's right, mind you, because it's an epic fail, IMO, but I'm wondering how the laws/practices differ.

I'll ask my brother-in-law when I see him tonight; he's from South Africa (Joburg), and his parents still live there.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

I have looked at my brother's FB account. He curses! In front of my parents!

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I don't know if national laws would apply. And it looks like your case of being notified was just one way to do it. I assume I was clean because I got the job, but it's not like my credit report where I got a simultaneous copy. I never got anything, period.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Early birds/night owls: I wish they had been more specific about *how* late and *how* early. For some people, staying up late means 10pm. For my niece, it means going to bed at 5am.

Regardless of the laws, I'm sure she had to waive her right to the privacy of these tests to compete in the first place.

It's still wrong that the results ended up in the press before she was notified, but I doubt it's illegal in any jurisdiction.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

I'm pretty sure anyone in America who's potential/employer is getting the test first signed a waiver allowing it.

I have looked at my brother's FB account. He curses! In front of my parents!

It's their fault for being there!!!!

This is my FB policy. Youdonlikeit? Then githefuckout! Actually, that's not entirely true. Once I friended actual children I started putting Hagar the Horrible characters in my cuss words in statuses. I haven't changed any content though -- if you're going to let your kid go on facebook he may find out Autie Trudy has sex. That's your call, man.

Google Chrome won't load the Google Adsense login page. Hmm.

Rain is spoiling the US Open. They expect a 2-3 hour window "later". At which point they may play the rest of Gonzalez/Nadal at the same time as Clisters/Williams, making one quite dizzy.
