But we're applying American law and practice on an international case. Not that I think it's right, mind you, because it's an epic fail, IMO, but I'm wondering how the laws/practices differ.

I don't know if national laws would apply. And it looks like your case of being notified was just one way to do it. I assume I was clean because I got the job, but it's not like my credit report where I got a simultaneous copy. I never got anything, period.

Early birds/night owls: I wish they had been more specific about *how* late and *how* early. For some people, staying up late means 10pm. For my niece, it means going to bed at 5am.

Regardless of the laws, I'm sure she had to waive her right to the privacy of these tests to compete in the first place.
It's still wrong that the results ended up in the press before she was notified, but I doubt it's illegal in any jurisdiction.
