And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

His opponent is much richer suddenly - disgruntled voters in that district donated $25,000 within 2 hours of the speech yesterday.

Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeexcellent.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

He decided he wanted to go to breakfast and while in line he saw his best friend, so they will have some social time together today, much to his pleasure.

He is in a class with dual teachers because it is a combined class with some students identified as special ed, most likely learning disabilities. This is a great thing, because this type of classroom would be the first step of aid we would request for him after getting an evaluation.

That all sounds good!

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Ann, that's a ferret.

Thoughts on the President's speech last night:

It was a great speech. Some very nice words. I wish I were more confident that he'll back up the words with action.

I heard the President's view on the public option to be, "If you have another plan that'll work better, I'll consider it." Which suggests that he sees the public option as a floor. But see above.

Every time the camera focused on John McCain, he looked like he was pretending to be having a better time than he really was.

If the Republicans wanted to highlight their health care reform proposals, they should talk about them instead of (1) merely waving them in the air, and (2)screaming drivel about "death panels" and the like.

If Joe Wilson has, at long last, any sense of decency, he is ashamed of himself. His constituents should also be ashamed of him -- and if they re-elect him in 2010, of themselves as well. Recommended punshiment for Wilson -- a 10-page essay explaining why "we're ashamed the president is from Texas" and "Stop the War" T-shirts at presidential appearances were inappropriate and even treasonous for the last eight years, but out-and-out calling the President a liar on the floor of Congress and carrying assault rifles outside presidential appearances are now appropriate. With Cindy Sheehan and Natalie Maines to decide whether his work is adequate.

“Not dead yet!”

From the NY Times:

[link]

After the speech, Rahm Emanuel, the White House chief of staff who sat a few rows in front of Mr. Wilson, said he immediately approached senior Republican lawmakers to encourage them to identify the heckler and urge him to issue an apology quickly.

“No president has ever been treated like that. Ever,” Mr. Emanuel said.

Ohhhh... to have been a fly on the wall of that "encouragement."

So, Comcast came to install cable for me last Saturday, but the guy couldn't do it. It turns out that my building, not one of the 30-40 units has Comcast - everyone who has cable has RCN. There were a bunch of Comcast cables coming into the building, but all of them were cut. (So now I have to have a special Comcast visit today, and another Comcast visit tomorrow.)

So, my theory is that ridding the building of Comcast was part of some terrible battle against some horribly evil foe. And me bringing Comcast back is sorta like me reading from the Book of the Dead in Evil Dead - I'll be reintroducing the evil back into the building.

So, maybe I should just get RCN?

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

Heh. SO not surprised.
