I missed the live speech because I had a committee meeting. Just catching up now.
Teppy, I love The Boy. Your conversations never cease to make me laugh.
I want to cockpunch Congressman Wilson.
I am trading some babysitting this weekend for a homemade Challah. Score!
I also missed the speech, and love The Boy's reactions. And SO want Rahm to pimp hand people. AWESOME WISH.
I also have to laugh cynically whenever I hear GOP doctors ask for malpractice liability reform. I can't be the only one thinking these guys are in Congress because they weren't very good at their other job, right?
Olbermann pointed out that the doctor-Congresscritter has been sued for malpractice three times, and yesterday, Rachel mentioned that he tried to purchase a British lordship from two conmen a few years back.
just de-friended someone from highschool on FB, sanctomonious asshole. I feel all growed up.
I did that last week with an ex-coworker. My bloodpressure has responded well.
Wilson's apology: [link]
“This evening I let my emotions get the best of me when listening to the President’s remarks regarding the coverage of illegal immigrants in the health care bill. While I disagree with the President’s statement, my comments were inappropriate and regrettable. I extend sincere apologies to the President for this lack of civility.”
OK, that would be a decent apology, except for the "I disagree with the President's statement" part. It was a statement of fact -- the bill clearly states that illegal immigrants will not be covered. You can say that he's wrong, if you've got facts and cites to back it up, but you can't disagree with a statement of fact.

Sure you can. And if you do so thirty or forty times other people will too. How are you not versed in Rovian discourse?
US Open: Man, I was standing on my furniture for parts of that
last tiebreaker. And then I made unfeminine noises and gestures towards the TV when Federer won, mostly stolen from Monfils' oeuvre. 39 consecutive wins at the US Open they say? And if he wins that's 41 and will tie Borg for the most at any slam? Beating himself for 40 at Wimbledon?
They showed a PSAish thingy with Arthur Ashe. Footage of that man still makes me cry. Me and my sister saw him speak at McGill while he was touring towards the end of his life, speaking mostly about AIDS and his activism. He was such an amazing, warm and regal man. Breathtaking. We got him to sign a Christmas card for our parents. He was so nice and funny about it, joking about their names.
U.S. Open:
Thank god. My brain is still on east coast time. I wouldn't have made it through another set.
I heart Emmett
did not watch the speech, but i am outraged at a congressperson misbehaving.
and I know nothing about tennis
