The Boy had a board meeting tonight and missed the speech, and he just called while driving home. The following conversation ensued:
Me: "A Congressman actually HECKLED the president!"
The Boy: "...did Rahm Emanuel punch him in the face?"
Me: "Regarding the 'death panels,' Obama surprised everyone by killing and eating an elderly person on camera."
The Boy: "I would have thought John McCain was too stringy to eat raw."

Nah. McCain's been marinating in bitterness since the sixties.
He's just...tart.
Good speech. Not happy about the not-funding-abortions thing, but I'm holding on to hope that that will be eroded away once the thing is finally done. Otherwise? What a joy to have an erudite president whom I can listen to without cringing.
And Wilson actually called him a liar. Un-fucking-believable.
The Boy: "...did Rahm Emanuel punch him in the face?"
You know, it occurs to me that there has been a disappointing lack of Rahm Emanuel face punching since all this started. I think Rahm should be giving republicans the pimp hand every day before breakfast.
I almost feel that Wilson's comment was so out of line that it hurts his side. I saw via Twitter that McCain called on him to apologize.
Eta: and yes, we need more Rahm Emmanuel.
I want a Rahm Emmanuel action figure. Now with Kung-Fu grip!
Dana, I was half an hour behind, and I skipped right ahead because it looked like
Soderling was going to break Federer's serve in the opening game.
Boy, was I surprised!
Oh, hey, I wanted to ask someone this, but I am alone in my living room, so I ask you: I saw many Repubs waving white papers with apparent determination. What were those? I missed the first bit of the speech, maybe it was made clear then.
I asked that during the speech but have gotten no answers.
