I've heard of some school districts now that are shortening the summer and adding in longer winter and spring breaks instead, which makes a TON of sense to me from a "not forgetting everything they learned over the summer" perspective.
I was surprised how much Sara's handwriting degraded just in a few months, actually.

Hey, me too!! Guess I was in a mood this morning.
My cat (screw "no cats on the internet day!") made me grin this morning. I haven't had time yet to download the picture I took of her in her hidey-hole: the comforter that flipped over the bed's footboard onto the floor. It has a great tunnel of quilting that she loves hiding inside.
There was a metric ton of steampunk stuff at Dragoncon, including a woman with a steampunk stroller, and my personal favorite, steampunk X-Men (Professor X, Rogue, Gambit, and Wolverine).
