Wash: Psychic, though? That sounds like something out of science fiction. Zoe: We live in a space ship, dear. Wash: So?

This morning Peter decided to pour out a gallon of orange juice into the bottom of the fridge. I was grinding coffee and heard "glug glug glug" and looked over just as the last cup was coming out.

Neither of my kids have ever been that kind of kid before, for which I am very thankful. I hope this does not augur a new phase for Peter.

(PS David - we are reading the Totoro book every day.)

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Oy, flea. The brightest of my nephews (and they're a bright lot of kids) was the Do That Toddler and Do That Kid. Not a speck of malice in him, and he knew right from wrong if the rules were pointed out to him, but he was really talented at finding situations where the rules weren't clear or could logically lead him to believe that whatever was permissible.

Now he's a sophomore RA at his college which is either terrifying or a testament to his upbringing.

Because books.

Jezebel's Pot Psychology videos just earwormed me with Lita Ford.

flea, it doesn't mean he'll start doing stuff like that all the time. There's always a little bit of a learning curve when they're trying new things.

Cool beans!

Who got the Cat bus?

I think Peter is just experimenting with liquid measures and volume.

I think Peter is just experimenting with liquid measures and volume.

So soon he'll be baking tasty stuff?

(What? As a childless person, I like to believe they can turn into tiny pastry chefs.)

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

So I started a blog to document the bug stuff. [link] I ran an outside errand for plastic bins and now I think I need to stop my deconstruction of the house and its belongs for the day and start putting things back so we can be ready to function for Monday.

Our wings are not tired.

Happy birthday, Kat! Cupcake wishes to you.

Wow, do I miss Harper's Island. Saturday night TV in the summer is a wasteland.

I watched the whole thing last week a couple eps or more a day. Great summer entertainment.

Noah and Grace hug it out

A world of Awwwww. So cute.

Bobby discovered that he could make pizza dough from scratch and made us a spinach/garlic pizza this week. Cooking kids = good.

I'm reminded of a foodstuff that appears in the Patrick O'Brien books called: "boiled baby."

no actual babies harmed in the making of said foodstuff

"The gunroom feast for the Captain was if anything more copious than that of the day before. The gunroom cook, by means known to himself alone, had conserved the makings of a superb suet pudding of the kind called boiled baby in the service, known to be Jack Aubrey's favourite form of food, and it came in on a scrubbed scuttle-cover to the sound of cheering."
