On a good day, it's 50 minutes. I started a new job this school year, but I'm not certain I'm going to stay in it more than a year, so I didn't want to move closer thinking I may have to move again next summer. So, I'm going to have to suck it up for awhile. If they'd finish the construction when they say (supposedly Nov/Dec), it ought to be okay. Otherwise, when snow comes?? Yikes.

Me, too. Huh. Wonder if that's the age the concept of mortality connects?
So one of my friends had a stroke on the weekend. I am totally in shock. She's only 42, and her blood pressure is healthy--I have been envious of her ability to eat lots of cheese and maintain a 119/70 BP. I don't know what's going on. The good news is that she's 90% recovered already. The bad news is she's off all week for a barrage of tests.

A dear friend of mine, similarly healthy, had one at 41. His recovery has been very very good. Please drop me a note if there is anything you want me to ask him or if Christine could use a hand with something -- I don't live that far away.

I have returned from DragonCon. I bought jewelry and nerdy T-shirts, and ate too many Funyuns. I saw Shatner, Nimoy, Patrick Stewart, Kate Mulgrew, Joe Flanigan, Jason Momoa, Rachel Luttrell, Ben Browder, Claudia Black, Gareth David-Lloyd, Tom Felton, Adam Savage, and others I can't remember. I'm very tired.
