I don't think presumption of innate human goodness is a core conservative value.
I think the presumption that everybody is responsible for their actions and circumstances is the basis for conservative thought.

I agree with Hec. Isn't one conservative value that people are innately selfish, but by pursuing their own self-interests they make markets more efficient?

The Reconstructed Glory of the "Amber Room"
Built by German and Russian craftsmen in 1701-1709, this incredible room in the Catherine Palace of Tsarskoye Selo near Saint Petersburg is often called the "Eighth Wonder of the World"
Holy shit.
Then scroll down a bunch more to the "Incredible Uninhabited Island." Perhaps not the best location for Buffista Island, but a good location for Buffista Secret World Domination Plan Island Fortress.
Another conservative belief is the nonperfectability of Man. We're all flawed, but there's nothing we can do about it. Therefor all Utopian programs like liberalism and socialism are doomed to failure. Or something.
Really lovely day at the open. We watched serena on the big tvs while we had an early lunch (beating all crowds) got back into ferrerro/simon one changeover before they closed gates to free entry and started looooooong lines. And now we are in our reserved seats in ashe for the duration with cold beverages. Mac is enthralled b/c his fave, rafi, is playing. I have promised many snacks for the rest of the day to keep him occupied for the venus match following.
waves to msbell and mac!
I'm watching on tv while I kinda work.
