Death is your art. You make it with your hands day after day. That final gasp, that look of peace. And part of you is desperate to know: What's it like? Where does it lead you? And now you see, that's the secret. Not the punch you didn't throw or the kicks you didn't land. She really wanted it. Every Slayer has a death wish. Even you.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

The other day I found a bigass spider perched on the edge of the cats' water bowl, which I had just picked up to refill.

There may have been squeeking.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

That was not a damn invitation, stupid (and now dead) spider !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I so don't get the Melanie Oudin love. I have no interest in hearing her talk, ever.

And I'm pissed that CBS decided to give priority to a non-match-deciding Djokovic/Witten point (tiebreaker, but still) while Federer was serving for his match, in a bout during which he'd struggled, keeping the latter in a tiny screen and not giving us audio.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

A panhandler on State St. this morning was holding this sign: Girlfriend kidnapped by ninjas; need money for ransom and kung fu lessons.

If I'd had any cash on me I'd have given him some.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

So I'm watching this debate among candidates for district attorney. The host asked if the three had ever done drugs other than marijuana, and when two of them said yes, he said, "I want to make sure you heard the question right -- other than marijuana???" They still said yes, 30 years ago.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Hee. Okay, I went back and jillifonted my dream. Usually I dream about doing dishes or something, so this was noticeable.

Now tagless for your comfort.

A panhandler on State St. this morning was holding this sign: Girlfriend kidnapped by ninjas; need money for ransom and kung fu lessons.

If I'd had any cash on me I'd have given him some.

That is made of awesome. I totally would have given him some.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

ita, what is it you don't like about Oudin? I'm half-assedly watching and just curious.

brenda, that may be the best panhandler sign I've ever heard.

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

Some pranksters changed their sign.

HA! Oh, that is fantastic.

House O' Reason is moving verrrrry slowly today. As in, Pete woke me up at 10:30, we fell back asleep for another 40 minutes, then took another 20 or so to actually crawl out of bed. Good thing we have no real plans for the day until 9 or so this evening.

Thank you for Jillifont, everyone! Our cats have been fierce hunters, thank goodness. Now if they'd stop leaving the dead bodies in the middle of the floor.
