Happy belated Birthday, Liese!
Natter 64: Yes, we still need you
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
Hey, let me know when you'll be in town and anything you need. Oooh, I get to show my house off to you! (I'm abominably obsessed with showing my house. It's a sickness.)
Thanks, and I will definitely be asking you for input once the move date is closer. Also, I can't wait to see your house! I think I may be in town on the 12th for lisah's neighborhood festival. Depends on work schedule, but that's MY plan. Let's hope work agrees.
Have I mentioned I'm excited to move? Yeah.
Here I am in Rogers Park, eating a sandwich called Rogers Pork.
Oh yeah, hampdenfest is next weekend. We'll definitely have to connect if you're here for that!
We're happy to have you here.
I think I need Sue's mom to come stay with me while I am working on this new show. I had my apartment all clean, but it is going to go to hell in a handbasket.
I am making 13 pieces of period (elizabethan/18th c) clothing. My stitcher is making 8. My student is making 2. and that doesn't count little things like ruffs and aprons and alterations.
I think I want to kill myself (I have 2 weeks until first fittings, then 1 1/2 weeks until dress). The most costume pieces we have ever made previously is 11 split between two people, but some of those 11 were pretty simple, and the woman I worked with then could pattern, but my new stitcher cannot.
We'll definitely have to connect if you're here for that!
Great! I'll be in e-mail touch once I know for sure.
I'm having an email discussion about health care with my mother. She says she doesn't understand the proposed plan, but she doesn't like it because she thinks that people should be able to keep going to the doctors that they're already going to. I told her there's nothing in the plan that would tell you which doctor to go to, at least not any more than the current system does, and gave a brief explanation of the proposal as best I could. She also forwarded me something from her Republican congressman. Mom's a Democrat, but gets most of her news and information from the TV news (the regular evening newscasts, not Fox or anything like that) and it really seems like the supporters of the plan have not been doing a great job at actually explaining to people like her what the plan actually says.
(Her eyesight has been getting worse, and she keeps losing or breaking her prescription reading glasses, and so she replaces them with the cheap reading glasses from the drugstore, which don't work so well for her because she has astigmatism, and so she hasn't been reading newspapers much.) (I wonder what the proposed health plan would do for people who need new glasses because they set theirs down on the floor, forgot that they were there, and stepped on them.) (Um. Not that I haven't actually done that myself. But only once! She's lost at least three pairs of glasses that way.)
Matilda quotes of the day:
On the stairs: I'm alive! I love my peoples! I love my life! I love it! RAAAAR!
At home, being asked if she wants to watch a movie: I want Teen Titans. That's a good movie. I love my good Titans! They're so strong!
Who's the strongest?
Robin! And he says, "Teen Titans GO!" Slade is a bad guy. You need something to poke Slade. Slade is so bad! Robin doesn't like Slade.
I echo Matilda's first response. I can't speak to her movies.

Look at you all life affirming.
