I'd rather stay home and watch television. It's often funnier than killing stuff.

Tonight, cleaning like a mofo. Tomorrow: Bus to parent's house. (Note to self: Make sure iPod is fully charged.)

I am on vacation all week. My original plan was to visit my parents until Wednesday or Thursday, then chill back at home for a few days. However my parents have decided to come back with me, so my dad can visit my aunt, who isn't feeling well. That's fine, but I have a massage scheduled for one day, a hair appt scheduled for another...I've got stuff planned. They're going to think I'm some kind of pampered princess!

I was also hoping that my oil tank could be installed on Thursday or Friday, but it looks like that won't be possible.

In good news, I bought a flea comb after work and found nothing on the cats. I also checked my mattress and pillows and can't see signs of anything, except my drooling habit. I am washing all my bedding nonetheless. Some of it needed to be washed for my parents' visit anyway.

The commander of the shuttle to repair Hubble was the guy who did the flying for Top Gun.

Half in my swimsuit, going to finish my peach and go make a first attempt.

I discovered while researching all I could about gin and tonic water after discovering the deliciousness that is a Bombay Sapphire G&T that tonic water is great for leg cramps.

Okay, so billytea and other people who know creepy crawlies, what kind of spider is this? And what are the four white things? And should I kill it or just relocate it off the adirondack chairs? [link] Jilli, don't look.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Also, Venus? Why Venus? It's like the worst place to visit in the Solar System.

Pfft, have you been to Mercury? I didn't think so.

The more I learn, the more I realize how little I know.

chiggers

Don't know about a powder, but 25% DEET has always done a good job of keeping chiggers away for me. And when I forget to spritz on the DEET and get bit, Chigarid is good at soothing the itching.

aircraft geekitude

I went to the airshow last month just to watch the Harrier perform.

spider

Not much detail, but it does not look like a brown recluse, and definitely not a black widow. The white things are probably egg cases. No need to kill it.

Not Billy, but I bet those are egg sacs.

I don't know what chiggers are, and I don't want to.

You know, those magnetic jars wouldn't be that hard to make. It's a question of getting the magnets.
