I phonebanked a guy named "Thomas Chong" yesterday...didn't say anything; I'm sure he'd heard it. But in my head, I said "No way!" Much as I liked that show, there is some thing about Bell's pixie appearance that brings out the same impulse I had to rip the heads off my Barbie dolls.

I was once behind an SUV with the rear license plate holder reading "There and Back Again" and the plate said "ARAGORN". Gee, I wonder what books they like to read???

When I got my oil change, the service guy's name was...Robert Smith.
I'm so glad my parents didn't name me Fred Krueger. (I think Fred was one of the names they considered.)
I knew an Afghan Hound named Aragorn (in 1978). I also knew two little girls named Lorien and Arwen (also in 1978, but different family). They lived in a geodesic house and slept in hammocks. In rural Maine.
There's a whole community near Tualatin, OR that has Tolkien-related names for streets.
Here's an awesome story about a guy building houses out of scrap materials: [link]
One of my friends named his daughter Eowyn, but it's a middle name.
Glee: Enjoyed the extra singing. Glad to see it on my teevee screen and I hope I end up actually liking the show. I spent a lot of time giggling in recognition, though, so that's probably a good sign. I think the characterizations are a bit broad for me at the moment, but hopefully those will shake out.
In other random news, I bought a second hummingbird feeder when we were at the Audubon center in Santa Fe because of the peace and harmony we saw there, with eight hummingbirds quietly eating nectar together. My hummingbirds have not yet learned this coexisting concept and are brutally battling each other to be the only one on the feeder. Lots of ports, hummingbirds! Work it out!
mac's therapist was gently prodding me that I needed to really get busy and making calls for more supportive services and a plan for school related issues. I fully admit that I was basking in the easier days we've had over the weekend and so far this week, but I know she is right and I will only be worse off if I do not do some navigating of the system now, before there is a crisis. As if to make sure I got the message, I just got a call from home with a screaming mac in the background - he doesn't want to do what is being asked for him and what the daily schedule says it is time for. oy.
ugh msbelle. I'm sorry it gets so hard.
