OMG, this is the worst idea ever, and I will not participate!
9-9-09, A Day Without Cats On The Internet
Urlesque is proposing that on 9-9-2009 we all take a break from posting about cats on the internet. Instead they suggest that you blog about many of the other wonderful non-cat animals out there.
I'm starting to wish I had been more anti-GWB.
I'm starting to wish I had been more anti-GWB.
You were too reasonable in your opposition.
I'd sort of forgotten all the flavors of Right Wing crazy during the Dubya years because I was too busy hating on his NeoCon foreign policy, unilateral military actions, subverting the Constitution and advocating torture.
This is what I'm saying! They (the right) kept saying we (the left) were anti-American anytime we said, "Um, maybe his policies aren't the best?" And now look at these crazy MFers!

Ooh. I've been to Miners Castle! A long time ago. I think. Or maybe I read about it a long time ago....
Heads up: My Target has tattoo sleeves in the dollar bins! Great way to make a tattoo t-shirt.

I was thinking about this just the other night, wondering how close the parallels are. Like lots of folks argued that GWB stole the election in 2000. Okay, sure, they had a bit of actual evidence for their claims, like the Florida recounts, etc, but what if you thought GWB won fair and square and all the anger was just frustration? It'd be hard to convince someone who thought Democrats were being unreasonable back in 2000 that's there's any real difference between that and the birthers.
Yeah, but there are fare more birthers (about 40 some % of Republicans?) and they're far more extreme.
