"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

home means so much

WORD. And it means so much at PreK and K which means so much at college!

Allyson, Noah misses you too. You should come hang out with us.

I woke up this morning without a headache for the first time in almost a week. I hope that means that the air is clearing up a bit.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I'm just going to put it out there that 4 is not an appropriate time for waking up in the morning.

As someone who was up at 4 this morning with a cranky toddler, I agree 100%.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Interesting for fans of the space program: Space Shuttle To Be Replaced By SpaceX For ISS Resupply

"Next year SpaceX will perform resupply missions for the International Space Station after the Space Shuttle is grounded, as part of a $3.5 billion NASA resupply contract. 'The fledgling space industry is reminiscent of the early days of the personal computer,' notes one technology reporter, 'when a number of established vendors and startups reversed-engineered Microsoft's DOS and manufactured PCs using the Intel 8080 chip set. We're likely to see a similar industry shakeout in the private space vehicle market segment in the coming decades.'"

There's been some concern about how we'd have to rely on the Russians to resupply the ISS after the Shuttle was retired. Having a private US company do the resupply is interesting and kinda' cool.

So that WWF ad, I linked to yesterday? I am sure many of you now know, it was never commissioned by the WWF, never approved, never seen by the head of the organization - it was just produced by the agency as a proposal and then entered into a contest. My guess, the intent was to be offensive in order to get all the attention that it now has. idiots.

In better news, I got rid of a giant bag full of stuff today (all heat treated - including 6 pairs of shoes). If I thought my dad could multi-task I could maybe unload another before day's end, but as it is, I should be able to drop off at least 2 big shopping bags full tomorrow morning. YAY!

So I think my brain is returning to normal after all the stress of moving. I actually feel kinda' relaxed this morning, for the first time in I don't know how long - a week?

When I get a sec. I should post the Story of the Febreze, the Oatmeal and the Kitchen Sink....

Just discovered that they do clothing recycling pick-up in my nabe every Sunday morning - and it is only 2 blocks from me. If I hustle tonight I should be able to gather up another bagful for that of stuff that is not re-saleable.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

There is some smoke in my office this morning, apparently because of construction outside. Two different people asked my pregnant coworker if she needed to go home. I need to go home! Not because of the smoke, but still...
