In the good news department, I had an extremely complimentary state-of-the-union meeting yesterday with the company owner and one of my other superiors, and was told that next month the bulk of my pay cut will be repealed.
Natter 64: Yes, we still need you

Yay pay cut partial repealage! Or something!
That sounds like great great news Matt!
IS the WWF funding some sort of Tsunami stopping panda technology?!?!
Hee!
I was offended any time I heard Katrina being compared to 9/11 -- because one was a REGIONAL NATURAL DISASTER. The other was terrible, but really really localized.
That's great, Matt!
Awesome, Matt!
Yay, Matt!!!
YAY pay!
So, luckily I have only been leaning on the one CC through this past month. And while it has gone from manageable to maxed out, which is not great, the others are almost paid off. I just set up a payment to pay off one, pay half the remaining balance on another and now I will check on my emergency back-up that I have been using some this past week. If it is manageable, then operation TiVO is on.
It is exciting that theoretically by this time next month, I will only have a balance on one card. The monthly payments I made on the others (I had never used two of them as active cards) will now shift to that one balance and it should be gone within the year - barring more emergencies than the buffer can handle.
Yay, Matt!
9/11 vs. Katrina vs. tsunami. (Full disclosure: I'm a Tulane alum who works in DC. So, personal connections to locations of two of those three.)
I'm very uncomfortable with any comparison of "which disaster is worse." Especially for disasters that have reached a certain level. And I think all three of those reached that level.
