Hah! I was off campus, so I drove very slowly (no stoplights! Trees down!) over to campus where there was a generator, and thus coffee. I remember it as a boring, soggy mess, except where I had to wake up every hour to make sure that the water in the sub-basement hadn't reached the basement (where I lived.) I lived off a small lake, so it was a bit of a concern. I'm not sure what we would've done if it had. Move stuff off the floor?

Now tagless for your comfort.

Good luck with the big changes, Jesse!

Our dentist appointment for Owen was an unmitigated disaster this morning. I started trying to prep him last Friday and offered him his favorite bribe: Legos. I got him in the office, in the exam room without trouble but he refused to sit in the chair and he would not let the dentist look in his mouth. We tried holding him down but there was kicking and screaming.

I'm beyond frustrated right now because on the way home he developed the argument that he is "allergic to the dentist."

I'm ready to lose it. He's in the living room watching Super Why right now and I'm thinking I need a drink already.

“Not dead yet!”

Lewis just said Marvel vs. Disney Fighting Game: Wolverine vs. Hannah Montana.

And Cash, I'm sorry you're dealing with dentist aversion. Sounds stressful.

And this was just the exam/cleaning, Barb. I don't know what I'm going to do if he needs more work. I can't cope. I think I'm going to have to have Christopher arrange to take him to the next visit. He doesn't have as much trouble forcing unpleasantness as I do.

Co-worker Wendy, the comic fiend, said (in response to the Marvel thing) - maybe Wolverine will turn into a real boy.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Baja And Far Southwest US Brace For Rare Hurricane

Residents on the Baja Peninsula are facing a major hurricane and residents as far north as San Diego, Yuma, and even out toward Phoenix or Tuscon, should prepare for the possibility of an extraordinarily rare and potentially very dangerous tropical cyclone over the next few days.
