I called my Mom this afternoon, and she immediately said, "I've just got back from the funeral," which worred me because a lot of her friends are O L D and it would be just like her to not getting around to telling me somebody was dying, you know?
But she was just watching Senator Kennedy's funeral on the TV.
I don't know if it was the massage this morning, or the rainy weather, but I had a ridiculous two hour nap today. It probably would have been longer if my nephew hadn't called.
From an article about the state of New Orleans' mental health system:
At the center of that fight is the New Orleans Adolescent Hospital (NOAH), which is scheduled to close Tuesday. After Cotton's death in 2008, Louisiana allotted $14.2 million to NOAH, Abramson says. This year, Gov. Bobby Jindal line-item vetoed that funding.
Thanks, fuckhead! And be sure to keep refusing federal stimulus money while you're running one of the poorest states in the nation.
I am organizing like an organizy thing. about to dig into bags and bins of clothes to pull out what will be my wearable fall wardrobe, the rest will go into storage.
Back from the lake. Probably about 5 miles total. Need to clean house, but since I just showered, I'll put that off until tomorrow or some night.
Grocery shop, the Y, walk, clean, all that needs to happen tomorrow.
I slept late and then napped most of the afternoon. A rainy day after a heat wave is a strong sedative.
Woo! Really close lightning & thunder! And I've got to go rescue laundry from the basement and I'm not sure where my flashlight is....
I love having my own washer and dryer.
Washer/dryer in-house is one of the joys of my life, right now. I loathe shared laundry rooms.
I can do laundry ANY DAMNED TIME. I can wash a load and run out, knowing it'll still be there waiting when I get back. I can hear the buzzer in my LR (it's in the basement right under this room.) It's mine.mine.mine.
And mine. In my adorable little house.
