Question: Will hiding in a cavern with stockpiled chocolate goods be any part of this plan?

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

The problem with District 75 is they cover all disabilities and special needs, and it doesn't look like there's an easy way to figure out what school/services are for what.

Coding and Sleeping

I feel really shallow posting this at the moment, but there's a cloud outside my window that looks exactly like Serenity. Where's a camera when you need one?

Now tagless for your comfort.

msbelle, if mac has a diagnosed disorder, the school system has to provide special education services--or pay for his schooling. I don't know if you're already gone down that avenue yet.

I'm glad people can help research this with you. It makes me feel better than just sitting on my hands.

Yeah, so I see. I did find a PDF that has all the schools and their accessibility info and services offered and even that reads like freakin' stereo instructions.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Ooh, look at that Googling mojo with actual phone numbers.

"The Sugar Bears" Cardboard Flexi-Disc (from Sugar Crisp cereal)

If you will refer to your copy of Bubblegum Music Is the Naked Truth you will find an entire discography of cardboard flexidiscs as cut out from cereal boxes.

I have the Sugar Bears record (both on vinyl and on my computer) should you need a smackeral. Note: Kim Carnes sang on that record.

Also, maybe Advocates for Children can help. Here's a PDF on Advocating for Your Child with a Behavior Problem: [link] and they have a part-time hotline: Call the Educational Helpline for all school-related matters Monday through Thursday 10 am to 4 pm. 1-866-427-6033

The good news about NYC being so confusing is that there are a lot of organizations that work outside The System to help.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

I am watching Barefoot Contessa make cheddar dill scones. I would like someone to be at my house right now to make me those scones.

hip deep in pie

There is also a separate office for mental health services in the schools. It's not school programs, but they may be able to direct you to specific schools.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

This is a NYS Education department guide to navigating Special Education in public NYS schools. I am thinking that, as Cashmere said, he may qualify for something like that.
