I'm glad your dad is coming, msbelle. This is a lot for one person to handle. Continued good thoughts headed your and mac's way.

I don't think there is anything to do, but thank you. my dad should be here tonight or tomorrow by 10.

Of the 2 intensive outpatient things suggested by insurance, one is not taking new patients. Fuck You very much insurance, How about covering whomever I find care with.

new twist. I'm calling around trying to get info on places and get appointments, no luck yet. The hospital will not release him until I have an appointment and they have confirmed it with the outpatient provider. SO, even though insurance won;t pay for another day, they will keep him unless I can get them this.

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

Sounds like it is time to engage the social worker at the hospital or go up the chain within your insurance company (or both).

can I help by making some calls? If you e me the info, I can at least help you rule out places that aren't taking new patients, etc.

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

I vote both, especially if there's someone at the hospital who can do it for you. That's a ridiculous catch-22 the insurance co. has you in, and someone ought to be able to advocate for you and find a way out of it.

Also, if you're missing work because of all this, have one of the doctors or nurses write a note to make sure you don't get penalized - they don't need to include any details about what's going on with Mac, just that it was a family emergency involving your child, requiring your presence at the hospital, and if your employers have any questions call the MD/nurse to discuss further.
