Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

Aren't you about two feet taller than she is?

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

But the 4'9" clerk attacks him with a three foot long ax!

That is way cool.

Last night I dreamt I had to put down rising colour/class tensions by killing people. I don't think anyone wanted to marry me, not even the person in the dream being played by Jensen Ackles, sadly. But I had a job to do, to keep the thugs and the racists from making things worse. By shooting them in the head.

Swouncing

Skipping yet again (not having a talking-to-the-internet computer makes me feel like I have to talk with my hands tied behind my back) because, according to the Buffista Calendar, today is DebetEsse'a birthday.

Happy birthday, DebetEsse! With lots of wishes for a great day and a wonderful year!

Oh, and lovely Sundays all around, of course!

Now tagless for your comfort.

I get to wish DebetEsse Happy Birthday in person tonight!

I look more rad than Lutheranism

My current theory is that after I called my landlord's bluff on the "we're gonna take you to court and evict you" thing, they just decided to ignore me until I go away - i.e. they haven't talked to me or done any treatment since May. (My lease will be up at the end of Sept. so I'll be out then, if not sooner.) Maybe they figure they'll treat the bugs in my apartment once I'm gone.

tommyrot, are you worried about bedbugs hitching a ride in your stuff when you move? Your landlord really is obligated to treat your apartment.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

I'm on my way up to my sister's. I was late this morning; I thought I missed my train. But the train was late, too, and now I get to frolic in the sweltering heat with my nieces and nephew. Yay!

And he berates the parents who respect their toddlers' wishes not to be dunked, saying that if you don't do it, your kids will always be afraid of the water.

Are these red cross lessons, Jessica? Because that's diametrically opposite what the RC lessons say. Parent-toddler classes at our pool use lots of songs and Noah is learning to kick and move his hands. Before he moves on to the non-parent-kid classes, he has to "swim" 5 feet unassisted.

Also, in San Franciso last night and today. I forget how much I'd prefer to stay in the city when I come visit. It's just spendy to do so.

The wedding we went to was at Mexican restaurant in a mall (no seriously.....a very fancy restaurant, but still) and the guacamole was the best I've ever had. Noah was so exhausted that he fell asleep in K's arms on our walk back to the hotel.

Woe to the fucking wicked.

Thanks, guys.

I am waiting for the laundry to finish, so I have clothes to wear to church.

Yesterday, we moved a chair-and-a-half up stairs and hoisted box springs up to the exterior 2nd floor door (wouldn't go up the stairs).

Today, I am glad that bed bugs are not part of my life.
